it's very frustrating trying to buy playoff tickets (and spending lots of money to do so) when you don't know where all the stupid posts and whatnot are. we just got seats in the first row of section 501, and the ebay seller called to tell us the seats are "partial view" or something. how can the front row of that section have an obstructed view??

Are you sure about that? There is no section 501.

The furthest 500-level section in left field is 503. Here's a view that'll show you how they could be obstructed. I'm pretty sure the Cubs only put "obstructed view" on their tickets if they're directly behind the pole, though.

sorry...516.

If this is 516, then it looks like row 1 seat 1 would be directly behind the pole.

Yikes! That's gonna suck.

Your neck is gonna hurt in some unholy kind of way the next day.

the guy mailed the tickets today, THEN called my dad to tell him they were obstructed view. i'd like to murder this a-hole with my bare hands.

You should report it to Ebay. It seems like the guy would have to put that information into the auction if he knew about it. Maybe you can get your money back.

i realize i'm fortunate to be going, but it's still pretty scummy to not mention that in the auction. i think you'd still be able to see home plate even from the first seat, and i'm sure we can move our heads around, but still...

Seriously you should do this. It's fraud, and eBay tries to take it seriously.

this absolutely sucks.

on the bright side, better right behind the pole where you can peak around and catch all the action then being a few rows back and having that pole directly covering the pitcher, flight of the pitch, or home plate. that's much worse.

I agree. If you didn't have the seat directly behind the pole (ie, the Cubs wouldn't call it "obstructed view"), it would still be BS for this guy not to say you were behind the pole if he knew about it. But given where you are and the fact that he called the next day, it's total fraud. He knew people wouldn't pay as much for the seat if they knew it was directly behind the pole.

How much did you pay? If it was a reasonable price I'd keep 'em...

It's Cubs playoffs.

I guess unless you would consider buying other seats.
