I'll be generous... give your hopeful prediction and then your realistic/actual prediction. I'll go first;

HOPEFUL Prediction:

American League Divisional Series;

Boston Red Sox over Los Angeles Angels, 3-2

Cleveland Indiana over NY Yankees, 3-0

National League Divisional Series;

Chicago Cubs over Arizona Diamondbacks, 3-1 (don't want it over TOO soon)

Colorado Rockies over Philadelphia Phillies, series goes 5 games (a couple extra-innings affairs at the end - HFA for Cubs in NLCS!)

American League Championship Series;

Boston Red Sox over Cleveland Indians, 4-3 (extremely hard fought series)

National League Championship Series;

Chicago Cubs over Colorado Rockies, 4-1 (don't want it over TOO soon)

World Series;

Chicago Cubs over Boston Red Sox, 4-0 or 4-1

REALISTIC Prediction:

American League Divisional Series;

Boston Red Sox over Los Angeles Angels, 3-2

NY Yankees over Cleveland Indians, 3-1

National League Divisional Series;

Chicago Cubs over Arizona Diamondbacks, 3-1

Philadelphia Phillies over Colorado Rockies, 3-1

American League Championship Series;

NY Yankees over Boston Red Sox, 4-2 or 4-3

National League Championship Series;

Philadelphia Phillies over Chicago Cubs, 4-2 or 4-3

World Series;

NY Yankees over Philadelphia Phillies, 4-1 or 4-2

I'll only give my hopefuls...

Angels over Red Sox in 5

Indians over Yankees in 3

Rockies over Phillies in 5

Cubs over Diamondbacks in 4

ALCS: Indians over Angels in 6

NLCS: Cubs over Rockies in 5

World Series: Cubs over Indians in 6

With realistic predictions...you got me! I haven't followed the AL much this season, so I can't say who the better teams are, one way or another.

I really don't think we get past Arizona. They just seem like a team that will give us fits.

:evil: I'm similarly pessimistic.

Oh good, then it's not just me.

The hardest series to call is Phils/Rox. Both with explosive offenses, mediocre-bad pitching. Could go either way.

Angels over Cubs in 5, because the Cubs will have gotten one monkey off the organization's back just by getting there, and we're not lucky enough that both would go away at once, but they'll have the courtesy to get thoroughly outplayed, a la Colts-Bears SB, rather than to do it in some heart-breaking fashion that will only add another outrageous story to the 'curse.'

I just hope the ON cubs show up instead of the OFF cubs. They are so darn inconsistent.

I just have nightmares that the free-swinging strike zone avoiding team will show and I'll have to watch the games with the sound off and head in hands...

I predict that I will struggle to stay awake during games 1 & 2 if TBS uses the same announcers that did the game last night.

It wasn't just the announcers. My late night threshold is so sadly weak since my son was born...I was falling asleep in the 12th inning last night and gave up and went to bed just before the 13th...just my luck.

Watch out for the Angels. Best pitching in the AL. Vlad is a guy that can carry that offense. And I like any team that can throw Lackey, Escobar and Weaver 5 times in a 5-game series and 5-6 in a 7-game series.

Angels over Red Sox in 4

A page full of posts and Truffle is the only one that didn't pick the Cubs to get past the Diamondbacks? Are we certain everyone shared their "realistic" picks? I know we had an abundance of success against Arizona in the regular season, but....:-#
