With the Cubs in the playoffs and our best rivals (Cardinals, White Sox, Mets) sitting at home, this is the perfect time to bring some trash talking signs to the game. I just wanted to get your suggestions for best signs to bring to the game, preferably onces that take shots at a rival. I think for now my favorite idea is to reverse a sign that really irked me in 2004.

"How is the reception in St. Louis, Cardinals fans?"

But to turn around a witty idea in the face of a Cardinals WS Championship and the Cubs futility would not seem as witty. So I am looking for suggestions.

If it were me, I wouldn't do the trash-talking stuff. Let's be classy and root for our team....not belittle others.

I don't mean to put bad mojo on us, I've just always enjoyed witty humor and witty signs at games. OK, I change my requirements to anything witty.

Geovany Soto.

Actually, it would be hard to top that one, if only for proclaiming his pure awesomeness, plus giving a secret shoutout to nsbb.

yeah, don't like the trash talking sign idea either

+1

Smack talk from Cub fans? We haven't done anything yet. Cards fans can take solace by turning off the playoffs and watching their 2006 DVD again. White Sox fans have a similar DVD with a happy ending from the year before.

I would think a Geovany Soto sign would work better if you brought like 20 of them and passed them out to people in the section around you.

How about "I'm here for the beer"? That ought to be the steriotypical type of sign many would expect and Buck would get a woody showing time and time again.

Yeah...you could amend that to "Who's playing? I'm just here for the beer."

Now that's witty.

Or how about just "What's the score?"

That is a great idea

Why would you bring a sign to a Cubs-DBacks game that's directed towards Cards fans? Doesn't make any sense. Let's just worry about the game on the field, and forget about insulting Cards fans.

Geovany Soto.

except that bum's line dropped to 389/433/667/1100 after his pathetic "performance" yesterday

BOOO!

I've always been of the opinion that Soto needs to be DFAd the second his OPS drops below 1100.

Well you could go with "Hell has froze over" or the Mastercard theme of:

White Sox out team salary

Cards out " "

Cubs in priceless

Or:

Pokemon theme:

"Z attack...now your baseball team is asleep"

And then use your Jones attack to daze and confuse.

While finishing with the Soto flurry of punches.

I like the idea of the 20 Geovany Soto signs.

Or a Brenly themed sign would be good. "Bob likes us better".

Winner.

Although, the multiple Soto signs is a great idea too.

I couldn't care less about the idiot section of other fan bases. I'd rather prove why we aren't them.

3 more pictures exactly like the one in your sig, please. 1 more for each series win.

No trash talk, no junk. Just more happiness and less crappiness.

I'm not much for signs, (I especially hate the "This year is the year" and "We Believe" signs) but I think this idea might be kinda cool.

Blow up a pic of whoever had the goggles in the celebration, with a tag line that says "More goggles please!"
