    I like how we all get pissed when someone swings at the first pitch and makes an out, but if they get a hit we congratulate them for jumping all over the first pitch. Never seen anyone applaud first pitch swinging. Really? I have. Swinging at the first pitch by itself is not a bad thing, but if its a trend that's not working, it can be really bad. There are different scenarios depending on scouting reports, placement in the order, how the pitcher fared against the previous hitter, etc. Agreed. However, it seems when the Cubs do it there is no such strategy involved. Just impatience. Soriano leadoff homers were fun but I like to see the pitcher leave the inning with more than 5 pitches.

    I didn't say anything about the high socks affecting actual physical ability. Neifi single-handedly campaigned to have the Mendoza line renamed the Perez line, sure, but at least he was wearing his socks properly while doing it. no, im saying he looked like an idiot Neifi's bulbous ass and chicken legs and general awfulness ensured he looked like an idiot no matter how he dressed. Why must you be so vivid? I had finally blocked his image out.

    I'd have trashed the Cubs too if they fired me just to appease some of their crybaby players. Stoney was the man. I never understood the sudden hate on him. You haven't heard a baseball game called unless you heard one by Harry and Steve. Those were good times. Some people drink a little too much kool aid and can't form opinions that go against the grain. I never understood the hate either. So what the guy could predict what was going to happen? Why is that a big deal? It's better than two guys in the booth joking about a player's name for an entire inning.
