I can't believe how bipolar some of you are towards the Cubs. One minute you love Z, the next you say he's not an ace. I can't imagine you guys with your families :lol:

 

But what do I know, we all love our Cubbies I guess.

 

How is it bipolar to say Z has major control issues and hasn't been the best pitcher on the team this season (aka not an ace - he has a 4.00 ERA). The criticisms are coming now that he's making $18 million a year.

 

It's not just Z. It's the whole freakin team.

 

Yes, the team sucks. But guys likes Alfonso, Derrek, Aramis and Z are going to draw more criticism because they are better than they are showing now and because they are paid a lot of money.

 

Hell Hill takes a beating around here by many, and hes making the league minimum, and has outpitched Z all year.

Going by ERA, Hill has outpiitched all of our starters.

 

I know, I was using Z since he is supposed to be our best pitcher.

Wow, if Z could have gotten their pitcher out, this game would be tied.

I'm much more concerned about this anemic offense than I am Carlos Zambrano.

 

You arent concerned about your supposed ace having an almost 4. ERA?

No, Z has been really good over the last two months. This offense is terrible.

 

Might want to check your stats before stating false things.

Might want to check yours. His last two starts have been bad but the 10 before those he was very dominant. Much more worried about the offense than Z.

This is hilarious. Sunday night at least 5 people were furious the game was rained out because Z had no-hit stuff and was set to dominate. 90% of the people on this board were happy about his signing.

 

4 runs over 5.1 innings later and we've had 312 "he's not our ace" "glad we get to pay him 90 million" "good thing the new contract straightened his head out" comments.

These are the same people who had no problem giving Wood a few a big contract in '03 even though he had the same problems.

 

Wood's problem was run support and walks, nothing from 02 and 03 would suggest that his career would drop like it has.

Isn't Z's big problem walks??

 

Wood had better K/BB and BB/9 the 2 years prior to signing the contract vs. Z this season and last.

I predicted that. I'm off the Murton bandwagon forever. Hit the ball in the air for once you idiot. Go back to Iowa, and then don't come back when rosters expand
