Oh man this was such a frustrating game, the Cubs could have/should have easily won:

 

1. Daryle Ward getting picked off - he would have scored due to what happened after. Thats 1 run

 

2. Cain knocks down DeRosa's liner 1/50 times. That's 2 runs if it gets into CF

 

3. Z makes a better pitch to Cain = no HR

 

4. Murton doesn't swing at the first pitch, Cubs likely score again due to Theriot's proceeding double.

 

That's 3 runs we should have had.

 

You can't say a lot of those things that happened after the negative event would have happened if the negative event hadn't occured. There's no way to know if Theriot would have doubled if Murton didn't GIDP, etc.

It was frustrating watching them lose this game. Giants being the poor team that they are must be given the game to win - the Cubs sure did accommodate. You could feel that, knowing their chances were slim to none, they were hoping/praying for Zambrano to get himself in trouble.
