Yes, yes indeed. That would be a huge move in the right direction.

i'll be at the 7/30, 7/31, and 8/1 games.

I'm hoping the Cubs are closer than 3.5 and that I get to welcome a new impact player.

This might be a blessing in disguise. After reading the article in the trib that said that the Cubs were nowhere close to making a move due to this hot streak, Hendry might reconsider after this weekend.

If he can land Griffey Jr., all is forgiven.

Yeah, they lost the final series of the homestand but the Cubs were 7-3 in the 10 games AND they picked up one game in the division during that time (remember, they were 4.5 games back coming out of the All Star Break) and possibly one game picked up in the Wild Card standings as well.

They did a great job!

If Hendry can't see the Cubs are still a bat short he's dumber than we think. And by bat, I mean big bat i.e., Dunn, Griffey or Teixeira, etc. not, Matt Stairs - he'd still be good option for bench though.

Just got back from the game, and I can honestly say I've never been more bored at a ball game. I've seen the Cubs get absolutely drummed, but at least that's interesting. From about the 3rd inning, I could just tell this wasn't going to be our day.

Yeah, the game was pretty boring today. How many hits did we have 4 or 5?

I was at the game also and it was a bore. The crowd woud try to get into it, but there was not much to cheer about. They looked tired as a team and we need Dlee back. It's pretty typical with the Dbacks. They always seem to give us trouble. We lost 2/3 but we still gained a game in the WC. Not bad, could've been worse. We have to go in St. Louis and sweep this guys.

Hehe.

We just simply cannot survive for more than a couple games without Derrek Lee. It's just a fact. Take Lee out = losing streak, sooner or later and probably sooner.

I'm sure glad the suspension is now behind us. Hopefully it doesn't take D any time to get back into things. This offense is pathetic without the Lee/Ramirez 1-2 punch.

Huh, oddly enough, I'm going to those three as well.
