Is that Haren game the same game Marrero tore his ACL slipping on the wet outfield grass?

It was not.

I think the Marrero game was actually a game that eventually got rained out before becoming an official game.

That Haren game was awesome. Tony got an enormous ovation come out of the dugout. One of my all time favorite games to witness in person.

ETA: the Marrero game was in May of 03.

No, that was a Mothers day Game in 2004 I believe. Clement started for the Cubs, and it was like 11-10 Cubs after 4 when the game was stopped and cancelled due to rain.

I think this is my favorite example of Dusty Baker's managerial genius.

Don't do that to me.

I miss Mark Prior. :(

What's so strange is I feel like that post-season was 5000 years ago. I still remember it vividly, but it just feels so long ago. Wierd seeing Lee on the Marlins boxscore.

I remember it all very well, too. I could, off the top of my head, tell you everything that happened in the top of the 8th inning in game 6.

I think that scarred me for life.

I really wonder what sort of plan they have for him.

You think they have a plan?

Bingo. I point to that game as the reason we didn't win the pennant.

The sad thing about it is that Dusty did it because his bullpen blew the game the day before...due to his stupidity. He put in Mark Guthrie to face Mike Lowell because he preferred that matchup to Dave Veres versus LENNY FREAKING HARRIS

I'll never forget just how awful of a manager Dusty is.

What is kind of funny of all those games is that Dusty actually takes out his regulars and puts in bench players before he takes out his starting pitcher.

I hate Dusty more and more as the days pass.

You'd think time would soften the feelings, instead, watching lou do the right things in managing the pitching staff makes me even more incensed daily.

Things have really changed in two months. How Lou kept his composure (for the most part) when this team sucked worse than suck itself is beyond me.

I gotta hand it to him. I really like what he's doing.

Wasn't that in 2003, and when the game was made up it was part of that epic 5-game series in late August that started the push to the division crown?

I'm pretty picky when it comes to pitch counts and excessive use of it, I applaude Piniella for pulling him early despite him pitching well.

With that said, there were two games when the game was decided that he should've been pulled earlier (despite the poor production of the pen, there were arms avail. at the time)

(4/28) and (5/15).

I know I'm being excessive about pointing these days out, but with someone of the value of Z on the line, it pays to be extra cautious when you're allowed that luxury of a blow out.

Piniella has surpassed me expectations so far.

someone try to find a dumber managerial move than that one. you cant.

How bout 1 game prior when Dusty chose to face Mike Lowell instead of Lenny Harris?

Lenny Harris is the best pinch hitter ever, dude.
