Do you think Sammy will need a translator at the press conference for #600?

Think he'll be under oath and at risk of prosecution at the press conference?

I'll cheer as long as the Cubs win.

I'll cheer if we are winning and he hit's a solo homer

Likewise, though not if it makes the game 2-1. I want him to hit it in a blowout.

I honestly have lost most of the admiration I ever had for Sosa. If he hits it against us, I'll be pissed, just as I would be if anyone else hit it. If he hits it against someone else, I probably won't care that much.

I think I'm indifferent. For some reason, I just don't care about what Sammy does since he left the Cubs. And I was one of his biggest fans between 1996-2003

of course you cheer. WHy wouldn't you? Sosa was a GREAT Cub and baseball player. No matter what you THINK happened, just look at facts and only 3 other people have hit 600 HR.

Can I get a recount?

Barry Bonds does not have a soul, therefore does not count as a person. mhuber's comment is correct

There will be no cheering here, but if I had to choose one I would prefer to see Sammy hit 600 over Bonds hitting 755.

I feel the same way. I could care less about Sosa's accomplishments now...and really wasn't that big a fan of his when playing for the Cubs but I would definately prefer for this to happen than Bonds pass Aaron.

I would love to be able to cheer for Sosa, but I can't help but wonder how many of those homeruns he would not have been able to hit without juicing. I just can't admire someone who cheated to achieve his success, as I believe he did. I loved Sosa from 1998 to 2004 like everyone else, but I can't cheer for him anymore than I can cheer for Bonds.

You bring up an interesting question. Let's say that Sammy was on the juice for a few years. How many HRs do you think can be attributed directly to the roids? Keep in mind that Sammy hit a number of bombs---most didn't exactly fall into the basket. So, did the roids give Sammy another 50 HRs? Maybe 75? Well, that still means he hit more than 500 "clean" that would have gone out regardless.

Now, I'm not condoning his taking of roids, but we can't lose sight of the fact that Sammy was an amazing HOF player regardless of the roids.

think what you will, but sammy sosa does not display the traditional characteristics of steroid use, among other things.

You mean the guy who hit 545 home runs for my team when I was growing up? Yeah I'll cheer.
