Knocked him out cold? He didn't even fall down. Zambrano would and probably did own Barrett in the clubhouse scrum.

hmm, good point. and he did kinda punch pierzinsky while he wasn't looking. zambrano would probably be looking for a sucker punch from barrett (he knows his technique)

You do know that they had another fight in the clubhouse after that, right? It was more than just "a little pushing and shoving".

Well I haven't seen that fight, so I can't really comment on it.

ladies and gentlemen, Joe Morgan.

nothing against you WF22, i just had to.

The same Joe Morgan who blasted Billy Beane for writing Moneyball (which he didn't) and who ridiculed all the points of the book (which he didn't read)?

Z basically making him look like a bitch in front of his teammates, you can damn sure bet Id up the ante and start saying or doing a little more.

Sometimes you have to own it.

First Barrett calls for a pitch and gets crossed up

Then he makes a really stupid play to compound the already stupid cross up.

I looked to me like Z was telling Barrett to use his head.

And Barrett told Z to not suck so much.

Perhaps Zambrano should "own" the fact that he can't get anyone out instead of blaming Barrett?

what a turnaround for Zambrano. he was looking at a big contract........and now he looks like a maniac going after this catcher because he stinks

Any time Morgan is asked to give an opinion of something not involving his playing career, he says "I haven't seen enough of him to say"

He does not watch any games he doesn't broadcast.

I commented on the dugout fight, and he was talking about the clubhouse one, so I didn't. I think the explanation above your post is the one.

As long as we're picking on Joe Morgan who deserves it and not me :)

Does anyone know of MLB will have a say in this, or will the Cubs front office/clubhouse have to decide what will be done?

Dont think it is an MLB issue per se. Nothing happened on the field.

Think this is going to be a Tribune decision.

This isn't the first time Zambrano has shown up a teammate. It's just that Barrett called him out for his own suckiness.

Barrett is not faultless in this, but it all began because Zambrano acts worse than a 11-year-old when things don't go his way.

True.

The worst about all this is having two of my favorite Cubs of the last few seasons fighting and having it be more likely than not at least one of them is getting traded.

Wasn't there an incident with Murton earlier this year where Zambrano showed him up? I can't recall what exactly happened, but I do vaguely remember something taking place.

Z had to apologize for showing up Murt last year, IIRC.

maybe just put a ring in the clubhouse and have a "royal-rumble" like brawl. last 5 players left in the ring don't get traded.
