Still holding out hope for a Gasol trade. Assuming the Bulls trade Gordon (along with others), I think the Bulls still need a SG. Looking at this list there are a few guys I would be interested in who should be cheap and can score a little to go along Thabo.

Matt Carroll- Charlotte

Ime Udoka- Portland

DeShawn Stevenson- Washington

All scored between 8-12 points last year. All have good size 6'5"-6'6". All shot over 40% from 3. Carroll is the best scorer and shooter of the 3, not good defensively. Udoka is probably closest to Thabo, would be a good fit, but may be redundant. Stevenson has the upside, but may be overpaid because of the hype he had coming out of HS.

That would give the Bulls an 8 man rotation of:

PG-Hinrich Duhon

SG-Carroll Sefolosha

SF-Deng

PF-Gasol Thomas

C- Wallace

*I traded Gordon, Nocioni (S&T), and Noah for Gasol, which starts to make Memphis look pretty good.

Stay far away from Darko. Motor issues for a guy about to sign a 50 million dollar deal sounds like a potential awful contract situation in the next few years.

I would like to grab Darko if the price is right. If he signs for the MLE then I'm all for it. Also, it looks like Memphis is getting ready to sign Nocioni.

Nocioni's a restricted free agent and the Bulls are on record saying they will match if he signs an offer sheet from another team.

Memphis wants Nocioni huh? That's excellent. Match the offer, then trade him in a package for Gasol.

Sign Noce or attempt to sign? Pax has stated that he will match any offer (i think any offer).

Don't see it happening unless the Bulls are willing to include Deng, and he's untouchable by all accounts. Bulls don't have a large, expiring contract to offer in return either.

Don't think Gordon gets it done? Memphis does have plenty of SF talent in Mike Miller (18ppg) and Rudy Gay. Gay started at the 2 last year, but is best used at the 3. Memphis was very weak in the backcourt last year. I think Gordon and Conley would go a long way to making them a better team....even w/o Gasol.

Deng was the deal breaker five months ago. I don't see their price dropping in the off season when teams typically get a better return on star-player trades. Really difficult for the Bulls to get the salaries to match without Brown's expiring contract as well. I think the window's closed on Gasol. They might gut the core if Kobe becomes available, but I can't see them doing so for Pau.

Any interest in Yi from China? He's not interested in going to Milwaukee and his agent is actively seeking possible trade partners with the Bucks.

Would anyone be willing to trade Noah plus (a second round pick or Duhon or something else) for Yi?

Would the Bulls have taken Yi over Noah?

Everything I'm hearing suggests Yi's going to Golden State. That Jason Richardson trade was dumb from the Bobcats' perspective and gave the Warriors plenty of ammunition for an eventual trade for Yi.

Noah and Duhon for Yi is a deal Paxon would have to make if it was feasible. We'd be coming off with a steal.

Gasol deal back in works?

the paper speculates it could be Gasol going to Chicago for Andres Nocioni (sign-and-trade), Joakim Noah, Chris Duhon and some filler to make the salaries match.

Mad Pax already shot that rumor down in the Daily Herald, I think. Best case scenario is probably signing one of either Mihm, Joe Smith or Darko. Probability of a trade is unlikely because Pax doesn't want to break up the core. I'm assuming most teams worry about KG opting out if he gets traded and will consequently not offer too much value to the T-Wolves.

The reporter at the Daily Herald made up that rumor.

Sum-Times[/url]"]Bulls general manager John Paxson said he has had no recent talks with the Grizzlies concerning a trade for Pau Gasol.

A newspaper report Wednesday suggested such talk was at ''the preliminary stages,'' which Paxson flatly denied.

''I have not had one conversation concerning Gasol,'' said Paxson, who called the story -- which floated a deal of Andres Nocioni, Joakim Noah, Chris Duhon and other considerations for the 7-foot Grizzlies forward -- ''a complete fabrication.''

Haha, what a ridiculously bad trade rumor. Yes, the Grizzlies are going to be interested in that package after they asked for Deng or bust during the regular season.

Hey, I would have done it lol. Anything to get Noah out of here before he plays for the Bulls is fine by me(not anything but you know what I mean)

Just whip out the JD and tell the Grizz Noah will be better than Deng in a few years?
