Hill will face the Cubs for the first time in his career. In his last outing, Hill pitched 6 1/3 innings and gave up three runs on four hits in a 3-0 loss to the Padres. A sinkerball pitcher, Hill was able to get eight groundball outs. He struck out five batters and walked three.

 

Talk to Hill about his outing, however, and one would think he was lit up. He mentioned that his right forearm, which has been bothering him since Spring Training, doesn't allow him to make full extension of his pitches. While there is no official diagnosis, Hill believes he has a nerve problem in the forearm.

 

Don't they think someone should look into this?

They could only get sued if they forced him to pitch by threatening his job if he doesn't, and then he gets hurt worse. Even then, it would be a really tough suit to win. It doesn't sound like that right now-if he chooses to pitch, it's his fault if he gets hurt.

Its crucial to have Izturis at SS, thats why we have our 2nd baseman playing RF so Theriot can play 2nd. What a mess. Izturis is a waste of space, he cant play defense or hit so whats the point? We have 3 RF already now we have our 2nd baseman spending time out there to? There needs to be some moves made on this team soon to clear out the junk.

This lineup is pathetic. Even if Murt and Floyd are unavailable, there are better ways to fill out the lineup card for today. If we move Theriot back to SS and DeRosa back to 2B, we can add an outfielder in place of Izturis. Pie would be an immediate upgrade or we could even slide Daryle Ward into RF and get him a start.

 

Izturis should never be in the game unless he's a 9th inning defensive replacement.
