outside of half a dozen guys, this Braves team has turned into a total no-name ballclub. Who the heck are these guys?

Mostly youngsters and some career journeymen (Yates in this group). Their payroll has dropped drastically the past few years giving them the need to try to catch lightning in the bottle.

well clearly no one goes to their games anymore

The Braves have a pretty good team.

The rotation after Smoltz and Hudson is pretty weak. Offense and bullpen are nice, though.

They haven't in many years. Braves fans became spoiled with success after 14 straight years of playoffs and basically quite showing up during the season. They just waited until the postseason.

didn't they also not sell out playoff games?

Sometimes, they didn't sell out even playoff games. It was pretty easy to get tickets for the Cubs/Braves playoff series a few years back, that was for sure.

Not always, but they sold far more tickets in the postseason. The fanbase is still pretty sorry overall.

yep, but the payroll will go down if attendance is down

Payroll's dropped since Ted Turner sold the team. Their problem is they were bought by a company (Time-Warner) interested only in making a profit.

Chuck James is very solid, a better pitcher then Horatio Ramirez. And Kyle Davis has a chance to be a very solid #4-5 pitcher in the majos. So, I would call the pitchers after Smoltz/Hudson "pretty weak", but I wouldn't call them a "strength" in 2007, either.
