I'm not arguing that versatility is Murton's best chance of getting into the lineup with more consistency, I'm just concerned we're going to see lost fly ball after lost fly ball on a chilly, breezy evening.

 

A chilly evening should mean more fly ball outs. The ball shouldn't carry too well tonight; He should be able to quickly retrieve any balls that fall in. We'll see...

The report on the radio is that Aramis is fine. They are just giving him an extra day. He took batting practice and infield drills today. He will probably return tomorrow.

I agree....Pie is hitting .430+ in the early going, and his defense would be a welcomed addition. He's a better option than shuffling players into unfamiliar positions.

 

Then again, I'm confident that JJ will come around (as will Sori)...hopefully tonight!

Yea, I don't think this is the Prior brand of cautious, so I'm not terribly concerned. The outlook has always been day-to-day with him. When they resume scratching him from the lineup 3 to 5 days in advance, I'll start freaking out, but right now doesn't seem like the best panic time.

I know he wouldn't. Neither would Z though. Cabrera is about to make the motherload. I don't see Florida signing him (or Z) to a deal that will likely start at the one Pujols signed. But if you can get a couple decent guys to throw into a package that includes Murton, and maybe a guy like Colvin and some arms, you do it.
