The Score just said Aram was available for emergency pinch-hit duties today. DeRosa will be playing 3b and Theriot is playing 2b. Murton is indeed in RF with Jones in LF.

Is there a reason Murton is in RF and Jones is in LF? :?

Yeah..thats....awkward...

Bruce, has Lou given any reasons for putting Murton in RF and Jones in LF?

Said he wanted to change things up and that he called Soriano in and said if CF was affecting his hitting, he'd move him. Soriano said he'd like to stay in center.

Thanks. Any talk of Pie's hot start and maybe a call-up in the near future?

None emanating from the Cubs.

Geoff Blum will get at least 3 hits tonight. I didn't look it up, but I'm sure he has fantastic numbers against the Cubs.

.240/.320/.367 in 53 games

.181/.263/.306 at Wrigley

so yeah, he'll get 3 hits with 7 RBI. Book it

Why move Murton to RF and Jacque to LF? I don't really get it. Maybe they want to get Murt some starts in RF so that they can move JJ if a good deal comes around?

Could be...

If Murton does well in RF, the OF could be Murton, Pie, and Soriano (R to L). I have a feeling that Soriano could be moved to LF if his hitting doesn't come around soon (which is why Lou had a talk with him).

Lou's chatting with Ronny on 720, just mentioned that he's not a fan of the squeeze. Thought I'd pass that along.

I heard that too. I wonder if that's true throughout his managerial career of if he's playing possum so other managers aren't looking for it late in games? I don't feel like looking it up though. :P

I thought the same thing when he said that. He seemed to be pretty convinced of what he was saying, so who knows. If he pulls it out every once and a while and it works every once and while, so be it. This team needs to score some runs somehow, someway. Soon. Like within the next half-hour.

Allright smartypants 8-)

Last 3 years he is .348/.375/.609/.984

Seeing Jason Marquis' ugly mug on my TV is not reassuring. I want the guy to do well, for obvious reasons, but I still haven't fully embraced him as a Cub... Too much recent Cardinal history. Edited by 98navigator

Yeah, but isn't the league average against the Cubs the past 3 years .450/.600/.800/1.400?

It sounds like Ryan Theriot is going to get into the lineup just about everyday from here on out. Good stuff.

I wont be able to watch the Cubs on TV for the next 4 weeks or so, so maybe the whole bad luck with the season is my fault, and it'll all turn around for the next month.

Either way, I'll be in this thread trying to stay posted, GO CUBS!
