Aside from Ramirez, Sammy currently has more RBI's than every other Cub.

Actually, it's more RBI's and HR's than everyone besides ARam, more doubles than everyone but Lee and Soriano, more total bases than everyone but Ramirez and Lee. Of players with at least 50 PA's he has a higher OPS than everyone but Ramirez and Lee. Not bad for a guy just flailing away for HR's.

Oh, so he has better stats than everyone on the Cubs not named Lee, Ramirez or Soriano?

The Sosa man-love crowd is a weeeeird bunch.

You know what's even weirder? People who only post in one thread, and that thread being about a player they can't stand.

Obsess much?

I missed the memo for posting in one thread only. Sorry about that.

And would you qualify a post dedicated solely to a player who hasn't been on the team in two years as "obsessing"? Just curious.

You know what would be great? If you would shut up and go back to desipio. this gig is old.

Im sure there are numerous people here who feel the same about you. Its a damn internet message board, I dont think you have any right at all to tell anybody what to do or where to go.

wah wah wah, go find one constructive post he's made, I dare you.

The same could be said about you its a damn message board if you dont like it ignore him.

#598 off of a Johan Santana fastball. Straight away centerfield.

But Sammy can't catch up to good fastballs anymore.

NEVER DOUBT SAMMY.

For what it's worth, I'm with IMB on this one.

Believe me I dont agree with much of what "Larry Horse" writes but its not IMB's place to tell people to shut up and go somewhere else.

It's my place to say whatever I want. If the mods have a problem with it, I'm sure they'll take care of it. Considering his posting history, I doubt they will.

Is this really bothering you?

You can say whatever you want to me, I don't care.

LH's act is tired and old. My vote goes for him exercising restraint and not visiting threads where he knows damn well the only thing he has to contribute is a bunch of B.S. nobody wants to hear.

If he can't do that, then too bad, he deserves what he gets.

BTW, Sammy with #10! Woot!

Nice. 36 RBI's already. If he keeps this up he's going to get a nice contract next year...

i'm pretty sure Keener is in the minority regarding his anti-IMB sentiments.

Im pretty sure Keener dont care either. All I was saying is he has no business telling people to shut up and leave. Had it been done by somebody else, to somebody else mods woulda been all over it.

I really wanted to see him hit 600 when I went to see the Rangers play the Cubs in June. I can't believe that he might get there before I do.

Oakland next week might be good . . . anyone want to go?

Intriguing. I didn't realize they were coming to Oakland then. I might have to look into going to one of those games. I could do Monday and Wednesday. Hmm...I'll have to think about this one.

Hopefully he gets two more by Monday.

There's one. :D

Modzilla's the only poster who can make it stick. In general (to everyone), if you aren't Modzilla, please don't take it upon yourself to order other posters off the board.

OK, the 10th HR makes it easy to do the math. At a base salary of $500K Sammys $/HR is down to $50K. How many will Soriano (just to pull a name out of a hat) have to hit to match that?

Base salary of $9mil this season, so he'll need to hit 180 homers to match Sammy's $/HR pace.

My Mom was visiting me the other week and went to see Texas play the Yankees at The Dump That Ruth Built, and said it was sort of bittersweet. Sammy had a couple of hits and an rbi that day as Texas beat the Yankees for the first time since 1984 or something like that, but says its sad to watch Sammy as he'ls playing great and nobody really cares outside of about half of the ex-Cubs' fans that are out there.

I think its a testament to the way the Cubs' are run that my favortie memory of this season might be Baseball Tonight's "live" coverage of Sammy's first HR off the White Sox.
