I didn't realize it at the time, but since the game was at the Wide World of Sports complex at Disney, it counts as the 45th different ballpark that Sammy's gone deep in.

Sammy hitting HR's for a last place team. Where have I heard this before?

Not his fault Texas can't find any pitching.

SAMMY!

Aside from Ramirez, Sammy currently has more RBI's than every other Cub.

Actually, it's more RBI's and HR's than everyone besides ARam, more doubles than everyone but Lee and Soriano, more total bases than everyone but Ramirez and Lee. Of players with at least 50 PA's he has a higher OPS than everyone but Ramirez and Lee. Not bad for a guy just flailing away for HR's.

BUT he just CARES about HIMSELF

I really wanted to see him hit 600 when I went to see the Rangers play the Cubs in June. I can't believe that he might get there before I do.

Oakland next week might be good . . . anyone want to go?

Intriguing. I didn't realize they were coming to Oakland then. I might have to look into going to one of those games. I could do Monday and Wednesday. Hmm...I'll have to think about this one.

Oh, so he has better stats than everyone on the Cubs not named Lee, Ramirez or Soriano?

The Sosa man-love crowd is a weeeeird bunch.

Well, Sosa is a man. Being a good to great baseball player will inspire love. I hope you were being sarcastic, as all available evidence would prove (sample size be damned) that this team would obviously would benefit from having Sosa in the lineup.

You know what's even weirder? People who only post in one thread, and that thread being about a player they can't stand.

Obsess much?

I didn't know you could transfer stats from team to team and assume that's how the player would automatically be performing.

And as far as a great baseball player inspiring "love"? I don't think so.

My wife and children inspire love for me. A man playing baseball doesn't really do if for me. Sorry.

I missed the memo for posting in one thread only. Sorry about that.

And would you qualify a post dedicated solely to a player who hasn't been on the team in two years as "obsessing"? Just curious.

People have different opinions. Let it go.

That being said, I wouldn't say celebrating a huge accomplishment by a former cub is obsessing. 600 homeruns is a huge accomplishment in major league baseball.

Despite his glove, I would much rather have Sammy Sosa up than Jacque Jones and his red bat at the plate swinging at anything that is low and away.

No, I'd call it keeping up with one of my favorite players. Nothing wrong with that. I do see something wrong with people like yourself who only bash the guy though. I've got no problem with not liking Sammy Sosa. But to post drivel after drivel like you do is just dumb and a complete waste of time. Do something productive rather than bitching.

Im sure there are numerous people here who feel the same about you. Its a damn internet message board, I dont think you have any right at all to tell anybody what to do or where to go.

Also, Im not bashing Sammy here, but did anybody see his "hop" last night when he thought he hit a homerun.....and it hit the wall lol. Kinda brought back some memories. Sammy is doing good though, a hell of a lot better than I expected.
