Actually, they're just pushing him back a day. Z will pitch tomorrow, and Miller will pitch Sunday. They aren't using a 4-man rotation.

Oooo. Thanks for the heads up. I saw them going with Z tomorrow and figured they were just going to skip Miller's turn in the rotation.

Thanks.

And if you had told me in spring training Cedeno and DeRosa would be the only ones who would have home runs for the Cubs so far this season, I'd tell you to get your head checked.

Or if you said three of the four Cubs starters (Miller excluded here) would only give up 1 run in their first start and the one that didn't was Z, I wouldn't have believed you.

EDIT: Mainly that Marquis would only give up 1 to the Reds.

BTW - for those upset about pulling Hill, they're probably trying to protect him from developing blisters again.

Phil Garner just called a squeeze play with runners on 1st and 3rd and no outs and the Astros losing by 2. It resulted in a double play. He should be shot for that.

I expect nothing less from the "home team."

Lou's the first manager the Cubs have had in quite some time who actually seems to understand the importance of not overworking pitchers.

I like it.

I like this because I'd remember in years' past where Dusty would just keep working his starters no matter how out of reach the game was. Unnecessarily. This is a good indicator that Lou has the big picture in mind when it comes to keeping his pitchers fresh over the course of the season.

Like Len and Bob said, if this was a close game, he'd be in there, and that'd be the right call. Up eight runs, not so much so.
