Welcome to the Lou Piniella era!

I fully expect Pierre to lead off the game with a 4-3...

Oh that's right, he's in Los Angeles this year. \:D/

Barring anything unforseen, the Reds lineup will be:

Ryan Freel CF

Adam Dunn LF

Brandon Phillips 2B

Ken Griffey Junior RF

Edwin Encarnacion 3B

Scott Hatteberg 1B

Alex Gonzalez SS

David Ross C

Aaron Harang P

My God it's good to see Griffey out of CF.

Any questions about the Reds, just ask.

Good luck.

We'll trade you Izturis for Jay Bruce!

Getting paid 9 million a year no less.

Brilliant move, LA. Especially when you already had a better leadoff hitter.

I can't wait! But I'm sad by the fact some ESPN shmuck might be there instead of Len & Bob. Oh well. Pat and Ron will do nicely.

Isn't the game going to be televised on WGN also?

I would assume ESPN because of the opener. Pesimistic side of me. Maybe it is on WGN. Didn't check.

I'll be in class today, so I'll only be able to catch the middle third of the game on my lunch break. If gameday works, I may be able to sneak peeks otherwise. The 173-game winning streak starts today!!

76 and sunny tomorrow at the GABP.

Don't expect that kind of weather when the Cubs open at Wrigley, though. After possible mid-week snow, gametime temps may not crack 40 on Friday.

luckily it should be a few degrees warmer when the Cubs open at home on Monday though :D

Oops. Meant Monday. It has since been upgraded a tad, though, but I wouldn't expect it to feel much above 40 if the sun isn't out.

The best I can hope for is to be able to pull up the Gameday window in between work sessions.

Whew. It smells funny in here.

Anyway, I'm cautiously optimistic about this season. I can't bring myself to be anything more than that because I know they'll rip my heart out if I am.

Go Cubbies! Shut 'em down today, Z!

Thank god this is on WGN. I don't have any interest in watching the ESPN broadcast. You know there are going to be lots of "spent $300 million" and "Prior and Wood still injured" and "almost 100 years w/o a championship" comments on the ESPN broadcast.
