According to Weather.com The cubs home opener will be a little chilly, but not quite as bad as friday. It says there will be a high of 47, low of 36 with a wnw wind of 9mph. Not bad. I'll just throw on some underarmour under my clothes and i'll be fine.

Speaking of MLB.TV, they have a 5 day free trial for the month of April. It's valid for one e-mail address. I wonder if you have multiple e-mail addresses, you could maybe find a way of getting around it each time :?

76 and sunny tomorrow at the GABP.

Don't expect that kind of weather when the Cubs open at Wrigley, though. After possible mid-week snow, gametime temps may not crack 40 on Friday.

it's gonna be a high of 43 on thursday at gabp

I have made a Go Cubs! post in the Opening Day game thread every year for the past three years. I've noticed something ... it helps the Cubs win on Opening Day but the season never turns out well. So this year I will make no such post. You can bookmark this thread and thank me after the Cubs win the World Series.

Oh yeah? Well I'm concentrating my energy on sending the cards bad vibes so they will have a bad year this year. .

apparently my mlb.tv will be rendered worthless due to espn2? thanks for nothing.

Are you kidding? WTH!

MLB.TV doesn't show ESPN games live. It will be available on archive (but unlike the other games, it might not be archived immediately--at least they weren't in the past). They figure you can watch them on TV (and ESPN pays big bucks to carry the game...)

MLB.TV doesn't show any games that are televised on a national network so they never air the Saturday games on FOX either, which sucks for somebody like me who gets the Dodgers/A's/Giants on Saturdays instead of the Cubs.

Also, winds from the WSW up to 15 mph. Don't know what the ballpark is like so I don't know if the that's winds blowing in or out. (And I see it's expected to be more along the lines of 70 degrees now at game time).

it sucks if you're trying to watch the games at work.

Yeah, I just wasn't aware this was on ESPN2. I'll just run over to a friends house and watch it, but still... LAME.

Blowing slightly in toward right field.

Honestly, if it's in the 70s the ball's going to be flying out of the yard even with the wind blowing in.

The Cubs need to win tomorrow to have a chance to duplicate Lou's last wire-to-wire trick.

In 1990, the Reds under new manager Lou Piniella shocked baseball by leading the NL West from wire-to-wire. They started off 33-12, winning their first 9 games, and maintained their lead throughout the year.

I'd take 5 in a row. :D

FYI, that team was coming off of a 75-87 finish the previous year.

We've dominated every Opening Day game since 2004. Let's make it 4 in a row.

In 2003 they won 15-2 against NYM in their first game. Lets make it 5 in a row.
