CBS never switched the game-that was bad. Oregon was up 2 shooting free throws with a second to play, and they never even switched over. They ended up hitting both, so it didn't matter, but UNLV almost had a shot to try to tie that game at the buzzer.

Well, I've got seven of the eight Elite 8 teams...not too bad. If UCLA pulls off the win over Kansas, I think I can win the NSBB bracket.

Yeah, I have 7 out of 8 as well and all final 4 teams left. I need UNC and UCLA to win their games.

I need UCLA and Georgetown. I've got Florida and Ohio State as well.

Somehow I've escaped the Sweet 16 round with all my Final Four teams intact - I think that's the first time I've ever pulled that one off.

(Of course, so have like 85 percent of all the brackets)

Tomorrow: Go Ohio State, Go UCLA. UCLA in particular is a must-win. Don't let your boys let me down Raisin :)

My brackets have pretty much fallen apart.

And that was a classy move by Tim Floyd. I thought he was a jerk with the Bulls, then again today on PTI when they were talking to him about OJ Mayo recruiting himself to USC. And he just cemented it with that move to completely take his team out of the game.

Hopefully we won't let you down, but KU is a better team.

I also have 7 out of 8 Elite 8 teams - missed on Memphis (sadly, I had Texas A&M all the Final Four).

I don't know; you're more battle tested. Can you give me a breakdown for tomorrow's game?

I'm 6/8 with Elite 8 teams (the two I lost were Texas A&M and Wisconsin). My final 4 is still intact, but both teams I picked for the national championship game got a scare today.

Even though I have Kansas in the Final Four, I will be pulling for UCLA and Memphis because it will pretty much screw everybody else over in the pool I'm in with some friends. Almost all of them have either OSU or Kansas winning it all so if both of them lost, it would all but secure victory for me.

Wow, very rarely do the studio guys call out officiating like this. In fact, I think sometimes they shy away from showing controversial footage. I hate when officials won't make the right call because of the time on the clock.

Yeah, for some reason they didn't say as much when Greg Oden basically picked a guy up and threw him out of bounds, but that wasn't a flagrant foul. But whatever, traveling doesn't exist any more, so they shouldn't have called it there.

Happily, despite Tennessee's collapse and aTm's narrow loss yesterday, I can still win my pools if UCLA wins the championship - which won't happen because I picked them. But it's nice to have a rooting interest other than rooting against the best paid team in the nation.

The Xavier guy did quite the acting job on that play though. Oden pushed the guy but not nearly hard enough to send him flying like he did. The Xavier player went flying like a Mexican soccer player. And that play shouldn't even matter because if Xavier makes its free throws, they win the game.

And if the ref calls a flagrant foul, like it would normally be called in rec league, high school, college, or NBA, Xavier wins the game too.

You and me are sitting in the same boat. For my money pool all i need is UCLA to win it and i win it all. I think if Oregon beats Florida i might get 2nd. If UCLA plays Gtown in the finals i win no matter what. I must be the only person picking UCLA to win in my pool of 30+. I think thats odd.

So far in this tourney no team has really stuck me as the team to beat. Almost all the good teams have had tremendous scares. All of the #1 seeds are in it but could easily be sitting home today as well.

Ditto. I'm still a little surprised Memphis beat Texas A&M. Still, 7 of 8 is pretty good (though not as much in this, the year of the favorite).

I seem to be the only one that thinks this is gonna be as straight forward a tourney as we've seen in a while. Sure, I'm sure there will be a lot of minor upsets, but I wouldn't be surprised to see all the #1s in the final four. At worse, maybe a couple 2 seeds.

Ahem.

Depending on the bracket I have 6 of the Elite 8 teams. Didn't pick Memphis or Oregon. My entire Final 4 is left in all bracket.

I don't buy this. After playing and coaching for many years, I just don't think "acting" jobs happen that often, especially in the heat of a moment of a tight NCAA game. Things are happening too quickly to stop and think like that. Now, once players hit the ground, sure some acting goes on. But its giving Xavier's player a ton of credit to think that in a split second upon being hit he decided to put on the act while flying out of bounds.

Yeah, I don't think he was acting-but I do think the way his body was positioned it set him up for a harder fall then Oden actually pushed him with. It also needs to be taken into account that this was at the end of a long scramble where there were at least a couple trips and pushing that the refs swallowed their whistle on, so they already were letting some contact go.

Plus, you can call an intentional foul on most fouls at the end of the game because a team is only fouling to send a guy to the line. Isn't that what an intentional foul is? Like you said CCP, the refs were being very lenient and could have called a foul on Xavier during the scramble so it was fair to only call a regular foul on Oden.
