Here is an interesting little tidbit about David Carr:

Indications out of David Carr's camp is that the quarterback is considering a unique approach to free agency. It's not just about the money or the chance to be an immediate starter. Carr is starting to think the best thing for his career might be to go to a good team, spend some time as the backup and wait for his shot. That's why Carolina and Seattle could be attractive.

What is it with Carr and Tuiasosopo and other retreads that we're considering? Draft someone in the third or fourth round or something. Besides, if we add Carr, then there'll be the inevitable three weeks when Delhomme sucks and everyone thinks "gee, maybe Carr can play".

For those who haven't seen yet, Reggie Nelson scored a 12 on his Wonderlic and Ginn got a 13.

Oh boy. The two guys that I wanted the most at #16 (besides Peterson, if he were to fall that far).

Pretty pathetic, and that's a severe understatement, to only score a 12 and a 13 on the Wonderlic.

I really hope he looks at Green Bay as an option.

That's because Carr can play, if you give him more that 2.5 seconds to throw the football.

It doesn't mean too much. Vince scored less than that last year and he had a pretty good year. The Wonderlic is only one of many tools to give an idea about a kid, I don't put much stock in it.

He's had better than a 60% completion percentage each of the last three years and he's been pretty steadily improving it (career high 68% last season).

His TD:INT ratio hasn't been real good, but I blame that more on lack of talent around him than his being a retread.

He's probably much better than any player you could get in the third or fourth round.

Tuiasosopo, on the other hand, is a retread.

It just means they're retarted (yes, intentional) but doesn't say much about how well they can play football.

I thought he scored a 16 the first time, and in the 20's the 2nd time.

I haven't seen this posted anywhere yet, but thought it worthy of being posted:

Buffalo, Dallas, Tennessee and the New York Jets have shown interest in acquiring [Michael Turner]. All appear willing to part at least with a first-round draft pick, but sources indicated the Chargers are still seeking two picks – in the first and third rounds.--Kevin Acee San Diego Union-Tribune.

Buffalo, Tennessee, and NYJ all make sense but Dallas doesn't. IMO we've got one of the better RB duos with Jones and Barber, I have always liked Turner and I wanted us to draft him over Jones but at this point we don't need him.

I like Turner, but I'm not sure I want to give up our first round pick to get him (definitely not our first and third).

If they're that unsure about LenDale, they need to trade up and take Peterson.

Either way, I'd much rather see us play LenDale - who we used a 2nd round pick on - and use the first on either DLine or corner.

I think you're right, actually. I was remembering the rumors that he made a 6 on it the first time. My point still stands though, even if you can't calculate when a train will arrive at a destination when its going X speed, it doesn't mean you can't play football.

Roto said that the latest Turner to the Packers rumor has us getting Turner for a swap of the 1st Round picks.

Thompson would be out of his mind if he did not accept that deal, considering we'd actually lose a first and a third rounder if we signed him to an offer sheet.

I hope they offer that to the Titans, I'd take it in a heartbeat. :D

The case can defenitely be made. With far superior talent around him, Delhomme has completed 60 and 61 percent of his passes the last two years respectively while having a +3, +14, +8 and +6 TD:INT ratio each of the last four years.

He's probably better, but it's hard to say for sure because Carr has had inferior players around him.

This would be a very good signing for the Panthers should they grab Carr.

EDIT: Plus, Delhomme is 32 while Carr is 27 (28 later this year).

If we're going to get Carr, then we better just release or trade Delhomme. I really don't want to see any kind of QB controversy in Charlotte. The lucky thing for me is that I'm sure their front office won't allow one.
