  1. What is it with Carr and Tuiasosopo and other retreads that we're considering? Draft someone in the third or fourth round or something. Besides, if we add Carr, then there'll be the inevitable three weeks when Delhomme sucks and everyone thinks "gee, maybe Carr can play". He's had better than a 60% completion percentage each of the last three years and he's been pretty steadily improving it (career high 68% last season). His TD:INT ratio hasn't been real good, but I blame that more on lack of talent around him than his being a retread. He's probably much better than any player you could get in the third or fourth round. Tuiasosopo, on the other hand, is a retread. He's probably better than Delhomme. That's not all that comforting for a Panthers' fan though.
  2. It doesn't at all. Briggs totally went about this the wrong way, so we should return in kind. Who cares? I want to what is best for the Bears and having a vendetta with Briggs doesn't seem like that would be the best way. The point was, the Skins did this and wound up rewarded with 2 1st rounders. If we wait, it *could* result in a better deal than swapping 1st round picks, which is what some have suggested isn't good enough. True-in fairness though, that is the only time in the history of the league that it is ever happened, and it set back the franchise that did it a couple years (in fact its labeled as the worst move in the short Panthers history)-I doubt anyone is going to be trying that anytime soon, although if anybody would be silly enough to try something like that, Washington would. I was hearing though when it Peyton was franchised for a couple weeks 3-4 years back that it was unlikely that anybody would even sign him and give up 2 first rounders. I do think that if people want the extra pick rather than the top pick, that the Bears probably could get a pick in the 20's or maybe a little later for Briggs. That's not worth quite as much as moving up to 6, but it does pick up an extra pick that may fill a need. Hopefully Angelo can exchange the 1st picks and steal their 2nd rounder. Probably a lot to ask for but hey if they get that you can't complain. Briggs, a 1st round pick swap and the Redskins' 2nd? Sign me up. Ironically, the Bears already have the Skins' 2nd. It was the pick they got from the Jets in the Thomas Jones trade. The Jets got it on draft day last year when Washington traded up to get Rocky McIntosh.
  3. There's Rosenhaus stirring things up again. The Bears approval is no small thing. EDIT: Did the Bears give Briggs/Rosenhaus permission to seek a trade or talk contract with another team? How is this not tampering? Briggs isn't under contract.
  4. Not that hard of a choice for me. It's Zep. With that said, I'd kind of be disappointed if either of these bands won the whole thing (which one will). Too predictible.
  5. Too close. Queen gets my vote because they are American...sort of.
  6. It's gonna be the Stones. The Who's run ends here.
  7. Grudzielanek has a club option next year. My guess, and this is pure speculation, is that the Royals will pick it up.
  8. If I can throw this into perspective for you guys. Our SS right now is Berroa. He isn't very good; swings too much, and is inconsistent in the field. However, I would still take him over Ronnie Cedeno. I would much rather have Izturis at SS than Berroa due to his glove and legs. Berroa may be the best hitter of the bunch (marginally), but I'd take Izturis. Which means I'd also take Izturis over Cedeno.
  9. Floyd. All the other great bands are out, so I really hope they, or maybe the stones go all the way.
  10. Nooooo. Don't go Twins. Someone beat them please. KC? Sox? Anyone?
  11. Do it. Do it. Do it. If for no other reason than the Dolphins are a playoff team and the Eagles arent. Statistically, Culpepper should have the better year, although I have them ranked about equal. And you're getting a pick? Pull the trigger.
  12. How can I vote against The Who???? By voting for Nirvana I guess.
  13. I've been there. Very nice stadium. Dodger dogs are all the rage there, but coming from Chicago, they are nothing special.
