Latest Coaches Poll has Florida jumping into the 2nd spot in the polls over Michigan. :x

Tressel abstained from voting.

BRILLIANT move to not give the No. 2 team bulletin board material in the event it wouldn't have been the No. 2 team Tressel voted for. Ingenious really.

he's a brilliant coach. the idea of Tressel at a school that gets the talent OSU does is a scary proposition. they'll be in the running for the NC almoste every year for years to come.

I agree. He'd already won two national championships at Youngstown State before comming to Columbus. My hope was that he would clean up the system at OSU too, but that is just too big a job for one I guess.

I could see him leaving for the NFL at some point in time.

With Florida gaining so many votes in the coaches poll, it's pretty much a given they are going to the NC game. Being a Michigan fan, I hope OSU destroys them.

I'm looking forward to Michigan/USC in the Rose.

Sweet :D

This is complete poop. I saw the conspiracy in the ranks last night as soon as UCLA won. Clearly noone says "Who is the 2nd best team" when they fill out thier poll. OSU WILL BEAT FLORIDA BY 3 TOUCHDOWNS. If you have to make up reasons like "Michigan had their chance' than you know you voted wrong.

Well i dont know if im going to go that far yet. 8)

But its looking like a lot of people will get what they want and not have a rematch. Thats fine but you arent going to get a very good game.

Florida is going to get their ass handed to them by OSU. Florida HAS NOT faced an offense any where near proficient like Troy Smith and company. The QB's in the SEC are mediocre. Yes mediocre. OSU isnt one dimensional either like a lot of SEC teams. Florida defense has not been tested, they are in for a rude awakening.

Flip to the other side. I like Chris Leak. Unfortunately for him his offense comes from Disney Land and is coached by Mickey Mouse. They are so one dimensional with the passing game and that spread run game is going to go nowhere against a smart and talented OSU defense. You have got to be multi dimensional to beat OSU defense and Florida is far from it. One dimensional teams get smoked by OSU. Florida can make some big plays against OSU but they sure the hell arent going to sustain drives and march down the field for 3 TD's like they will need to.

Michigan had a bigger lead in the Harris Poll than Coaches so all hope is not lost.

I want to see Michigan play Ohio State because Michigan is a better team than Florida and would give Ohio State a much better game

But sure, let's see Ohio State blow out Florida just because Florida hasn't had their chance yet at the Buckeyes.

I blame your team for messing up the BCS.

FLorida is #2 in AP by 3 points. Before this week they were down by 63 to Michigan.

For the coaches poll Michigan lost one point from last week. I think that means at least all of the coaches that had USC #2 switched there votes to Florida.

Also i wonder if USC had won would FLorida had jumped Michigan? I dont think they would have. Kinda weird.

Didn't see it posted yet, but Tressel didn't vote in this weeks poll.

Anyone thing Meyer being so outspoken recently could play a part in Florida gaining on Michigan?

Also when do they release how each coach voted?

Florida will make the National Championship game but Michigan deserves to. There are three types of voters out there:

1. Those who actually think Florida is better and will vote them #2.

2. Those who don't want a rematch and will vote Florida #2 because of it even if they think Michigan is better.

3. Those who don't care about a rematch and will vote Michigan because they think Michigan is the better team.

I have never claimed they are better than Louisville, although I think they would beat Rutgers handily, have a rough time with WV because their D is more geared toward the pass, but still win because their size on the O-line would just dominate the skinny assed front seven of WV.

WVU front seven:

DE: 6-3, 250

DE: 6-4, 290

NT: 6-4, 295

LB: 6-1, 245

LB: 6-1, 215

LB: 6-2, 225

LB: 6-2, 230

Wisconsin front seven:

DE: 6-2, 260

DE: 6-6, 234

DT: 6-4, 282

DT: 6-5, 311

LB: 6-2, 214

LB: 6-2, 220

LB: 6-2, 232

Wow, those look pretty similar don't they. Are you going to call Wisconsin's front seven "skinny assed" now too?

Wisconsin's front seven is skinny assed.

happy?

LSU's the one SEC team I didn't want ND to play. This sucks. Florida's going to get embarrassed.

Urban Meyer's a whiny little biotch.

Agreed, agreed, maybe, and agreed.

difference is that Wisconsin's O-line is all over 310 lbs, while WVU has only 1 guy over 290. And Wisky's line isn't just big, it's really good. I agree, they'd probably manhandle WV.

LSU vs ND in the Sugar. That's a home game for LSU. Geaux Tigers!

My hope is that the fact that LSU's offense isn't that great will make it a good defensive struggle.

My feeling is that LSU's offense will suddenly become really good against Rick Minter's terrible schemes + our terrible secondary.

If nothing else, it's going to be really interesting. This is really the first time Weis will have coached against a team that's somewhere in between "cruddy" and "world-beaters".

I wasn't debating whether Wisconsin's O-line would dominate WVU's D-line because I know - from looking it up - that Wisconsin's O-line is big. I was refuting the notion that WVU's front seven was "skinny assed" which they clearly aren't.
