nice, we win the 2nd game in NY and we drop a spot in the ESPN Power Rankings.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/powerranking

I really cant argue with the rankings because I personally feel we would lose to the Colts and Chargers if we played them this Sunday.

Why do you think that? The Colts just got beat by a team worse than us, and SD has 2 losses.

I don't agree with losing to the Colts, but right now our run defense is a weakness. LT would find daylight all day long.

Didn't Denver just put up about 28 on them? We can score, too.

I've always thought SD belonged in the top 3 or 4 teams in the league. They've definitely been pretty underrated until recently.

As far as your logic goes, the Bears got beat by a team that's worse than the team that beat the Colts, and just by virtue of playing in the AFC, SD's schedule has been tougher than the Bears' to this point. Of course, if the Bears take this one in NE, there's no room left to dispute them, but I don't think it's unfair to place those two teams ahead of Chicago, at least until Monday :)

I'm not sure what you guys mean by lack of respect...I mean when the Bears started out 5-0, pretty much everyone was calling them the best team in the NFL, ESPN was pumping out 30 pieces on the Bears per week, and everyone was pretty much anointing Rex Grossman as Brett Favre Jr. Since then, the Bears have looked a little less dominating as before, and the media has moved on to a new flavor of the week, first the Colts and now the Chargers. That's life

The point wasn't that the Bears are unbeatable, but why would a Bears fan expect them to lose to anyone at this point? The Bears are as good, if not better, than anyone in the NFL. Everyone loves the Chargers, but they have allowed 19,27,24,25,41,27 points the last 6 weeks. The Colts are a great team, but I think the Bears at their best beats anyone else in the league at their best. Can the Bears lose? You bet. They could lose this weekend, but I see no reason to ever expect this team to get beat.

For those who say we have to "prove something" by winning this Sunday, can we stop that already? First it was prove something by going to Minn and winning, they did that. Then everyone said Minnesota sucked, so they had to beat Seattle. They killed Seattle, but Shaun Alexander was out. So then it was beat the Giants. They did that. That wasn't enough, so then it was beat the 5-4 Jets who had just beat the Patriots. They shut them out. Now it's the Patriots. Next it will be "the Bears are good, but they have to win a playoff game before they are legit." They are legit. They are miles ahead of anyone in th NFC.

Enjoy the best bears team since the mid 80's.

Depends where it was played.

If it was really cold and SD came to Chicago, I would say the Bears have an advantage. If we played in SD, I'd give them the edge.

SD is a great ballclub. I don't think they can realistically expect to get down by 17 points and come back every week though. They're going to have to fix their horrible 1st half performances if they want to go far in the playoffs.

I think too many people are selling the Bears short. They just went to NY and won twice in successive weeks---something I believe no team has ever done. Everyone said the Bears would collapse on their 3 game road trip. Now they've proven everyone wrong, so all of a sudden they didn't beat the Jets by enough, and the run defense sucks, and yada yada. It's always something. Bottom line: Bears undefeated on the road this season. Bears way, way ahead of all predictions for the season.

Desmond Clark (foot) was removed from the injury report on Thursday. Thomas Jones (groin) is still listed as probable, but Wesley (knee) was upgraded to probable. Edited by Jon

That could be helpful with Manning Jr out.

Yeah, and special teams coverage.

The injury report is now clear after Jones and Wesley were removed on Friday.

The Patriot, on the other hand:

OUT

SS Rodney Harrison (Shoulder)

QUESTIONABLE

TE Daniel Graham (Ankle)

CB Ellis Hobbs (Wrist)

LB Corey Mays (Hamstring)

P Josh Miller (Shoulder)

CB Asante Samuel (Knee)

CB Chad Scott (Groin)

TE David Thomas (Groin)

FS Eugene Wilson (Hamstring)

PROBABLE

QB Tom Brady (Shoulder)

DE Richard Seymour (Elbow)

But that's from Thursday. Faulk is now questionable with the flu. And Josh Miller is now out.

They are bringing a punter in off the street. I can't remember his name, but he hasn't punted in 2 years.

That could really help.

I believe his name is Ken Walter. There are a big number of Patriots fans on the Colts board that I am on. One of them described Walter's punts as almost like a pool shot-he said it went 30 yards in the air, and then simply spun backwards every time. It infuriated Patriots fans then, and they hate that he is back.

Yeah that might be a big plus for the Bears. The only thing I worry about though is that Hester might get so excited that he makes a stupid mistake.

Word is, Hester has been putting in alot of extra time with the special teams coach. Certainly the last couple games after the Miami meltdown, he has been improved. Here's hoping it continues----I think the Bears are at a significant disadvantage this weekend, being the 3rd road game in a row against a good team.

That's about average for the Patriots. It is hard to know what's real.

Man I fear every week that the injury bug is going to hit us....it's unbelievable how fortunate the Bears have been the last 2 years.

I dunno. Rex. Mike Brown. Bradley. To a lesser extent, Benson. We've had important players miss pretty significant time. We're just so stacked/deep that we've been able to soften the blows.

For this year, Berrian, Ogunleye, Hillenmeyer, and other members of the secondary. Scott and Clark have also been banged up pretty good for a couple of games.

We've been playing without our starting stud safety for much longer than the Patriots have. I know the Bears have been healthy, but there have been significant injuries as well. Just not the crushing onslaught of previous years, so it seems like nothing (*****KNOCK ON WOOD*****)

I think a lot of it has to do with Rusty Jones. Everybody before 2005 was out of shape, even warriors like Brian Urlacher.

figures, the one week they move the game back so i may be able to watch it at home the titans also play at 3 and screw it all up....i hate blackout rules.

I'd rather have the media hating a bit on the Bears than smothering them with affection. It does seem like Rex is getting a pretty rough deal from some of these talking heads lately. So be it, pile on fellas.

It's been said already, every game that was supposed to mean something about the Bears gets downgraded after the fact. Minnesota, Seattle, NY Giants, NY Jets - all big games and tests until the Bears actually won, then the excuse train comes barrelling down the tracks. I halfway expect that should the Bears win later today that the media shall inform us all that the Patriots as a team valiantly played through a terrible strain of 24 hour malaria and Tom Brady was declared clinically dead 15 minutes before kickoff.
