Why is everyone annointing Bradley as the Bears' savior? I know he's shown some potential in the past, but his TD last week wasn't anything special. The media keeps commenting on how he's a deep threat (which he is, I guess) but not because of last week's TD. I'm being picky here, but I'm getting sick of reading articles about how Bradley is going to carry us, it sets me up for disappointment.

It's gonna be tough to run today, so Rex will open it up. No more of that Kyle Orton stuff from last week.

Rex - 21/34, 285 yards, 3 TD, 1 INT

BEARS 46

PATS 10

I just think it's great how there's competition for the #2 spot with Bradley and Berrian. We've got our solid #1 veteran in Muhsin Muhammad, and we've got two guys who could step in and be our #2 receiver. Both guys are definitely deep threats, and definitely open up the offense. We have a nice "problem" with these two guys battling it out, trying to one up each other when the other isn't in. Bradley was a stud at OU, and he's shown he can make the big play in this league. I thought his catch-and-run TD from last week was pretty darn impressive.

Agreed. He had one on one coverage and made his guy miss badly. It was a very good play. But still, who's annointing him savior? He's simply an additional weapon that we haven't been sure of until this point in the season. If you're expecting him to be a "savior" or for him to "carry" us, then that's just silly.

I just got owned. I checked the tv listings earlier this week and it had me getting the Bears game at school on FOX. Now I get home from CT and its the Giants game. UGH

LOL, what a bunch of dumb asses announcing the NO/ATL game. When talking about the Bears game today and referencing what DAL did on Thanksgiving, Moose Johnston said that the Bears need to answer the message sent by the Dallas Cowboys. Excuse me, but I think the Bears are in a much better position than Dallas.

The great Dick Stockton said that the Bears have to answer what the Cowboys did on Thursday.

Why?

That is a real head scratcher.

btw, Jon.... who stole your last name ??

Why?

Because they're America's team.

Nevermind the fact that we're 9-1 and have been the best team in the NFC all season. Now we have to answer a 7-4 team.

Boone is active this week in an effort to help stop the run. I assume that means Gage is inactive.

Yeah, Gage is inactive and so is Wesley.

Wonder who got Wesley's spot.

Eugene Wilson, Chad Scott, and Rodney Harrison are all out for NE's secondary.

And I lent it to someone. Never returned it.

Against common opponents........

BEARS 2-0
Dallas 1-1

How the hell do we answer that ???

As a Colts fan, I have to disagree with the assertion that Grossman is as important to the Bears as Manning is to the Colts.

Just because Grossman doesn't put up "video game numbers" like Petyon Manning, doesn't mean Grossman isn't as valued to the Bears as Manning to the Colts. Manning is asked to CARRIES the offense, Grossman is asked to run and execute the offense with minimal of mistakes. Big difference. But I will say it again....Grossman is as VALUABLE TO THE BEARS, as Manning is to the Colts.

Grossman is what-the difference between 10-6 and 14-2? Manning is the difference between 14-2 and 4-12-it's simply amazing how much different the team would be without him.

Stop believing in the hype of Peyton Manning, cause even Peyton isn't THAT good. From 1998-2001, with the help of James/Dilger/Pollard/Harrison, etc, etc, the Colts were 32-32. The Colts ascension to the "elite" came when they hired Tony Dungy. In fact, I think you can make the case that without Dungy, the Colts are a consistant 9-7, 10-6 team. So, IMO, I think Peyton Manning is about as overrated player in the game as anybody, but the difference with Manning is he has the stats to back him up, unlike other overrateed players. But let's face it...Manning DID NOT save the Colts franchise by himself. If you think he did.....there is no excuse. Football is the cinsumate team effort sport, and if Manning didn't have Edge/Harrison/Pollard/Dilger etc, maybe he would be the former #1 overall pick who is underachieving badly.

Manning is good, but not THAT good.

Go Bears!

If the Bears win this game and people start making excuses about how this isn't that good of a win, I'm gonna be very annoyed.

Manning is good, but not THAT good.

That 32-32 record is pretty misleading. 1998 was Manning's first year. The whole team was terrible, that's why we had the number 1 pick in the first place. Their record-3-13.

The next year, they went 13-3. The year after that they were 10-6.

2001 they were 6-10. The loss of James for the season hurt, but the big problem was that the defense gave up almost 32 points per game. There is really nobody that could overcome that terrible of a defense, and Manning couldn't either.

What has Dungy done since 2002? He has made the defense go from horrible to below average. Also BTW, Manning is a different QB then he was from 1998-2001, he makes so much better decisions then he did in the past.

Still though, if Manning goes out of the game, how good is the Colts offense? The run blocking is very poor, so their running game would be shut down without the threat of the play action. Their pass protection is pretty good, but not good enough to give Sorgi enough time to make plays-Manning's clock in his head is the reason that the Colts give up so few sacks.

The proof is the Bears last year-they still had a good year even without Grossman for most of the year. Grossman takes them from good to great. Without Manning, the Colts would have a below average running game, a decent to good passing game, and a below average defense. That does not lend itself to victories whatsoever. If you take Peyton Manning off the Colts, they are the Arizona Cardinals-great receivers and a good runningback, but that's about it.

I assume Wesley reaggrivated his knee or they just didn't feel he was quite ready yet. Derrick Strait will make his Bears debut and take over as gunner.
