when will football coaches realized that going for two is an idiotic proposition unless the game is about halfway through the fourth quarter.

kick the one, go for two here in the fourth, then Arakansas just needs a field goal there. the point is moot, but still a dumb coaching move.

Arkansas should have tried to run the ball on first and second down. They know Dick is having a horrible day and you know McFadden could break one on any play. You have to try it at least.

I know I made multiple statements about Grossman but those happened 2 months ago. That's my point. And I don't know the point you are trying to make about Army v Indiana because of the way you wrote it. You know, since what you said and what you wanted to say were two different things.

This time, I'm serious. I'm not responding to you on this subject again.

there is no time limitation on wrong.

But this isn't a Rex Grossman thread. This is a CFB thread.

They wouldn't have gotten it within 3 unless they actually made the 2 point conversion in the 4th quarter-if they didn't make it in the 2nd, how were they going to do it in the 4th? I agree they should have gone for the extra point early, but they still would have been in the same situation later.

oh, that's right. threads never diverge from their primary focus.

he was wrong about Grossman, there's a good chance he's wrong about the Big East too.

Have you ever been wrong about anything in your life?

Then there's a good chance you are wrong about this. That's silly.

yes I have as I have readily admitted multiple times on this board. I will make a strong case and if I am wrong I will admit it. I have no problem with that.

with Grossman, turned out I wasn't wrong, and I don't think I am wrong about the Big East either. if the Big East romps through bowl season, I will be here admitting I was wrong. I don't think I will have to.

the two points you mashed together above are taken out of context. in fact, Soc implied he's never wrong just a couple pages ago.

Funny thing is, I agree with you about the Big East, but your logic that he was wrong about Rex Grossman so he's wrong about the Big East is nutty.

you got in before my edit. you're missing the context of the statement.

Then your point isn't clear at all. All I did was take the statement you made and turned it around on you. Whether Soccer10 thinks he is perfect or not (I have no idea, I didn't read all 21 pages) the point remains that because someone is wrong about issue A doesn't mean they are wrong about issue Q.

You know, you guys can shut up any time now.

You can lead the way.

Since I'm not participating in the same circular argument that happens every single week, I'm afraid I can't, really. Hard to shut up about something I'm not talking about.

If you don't like the argument you don't have to participate in it. What is boring to you may be interesting to others. Just because you aren't entertained doesn't mean the subject has to change.

All you LSU fans pining for Matt Flynn next year might as well stop...he's transferring to OU and under the new rule that lets graduates switch schools without losing a year, he'll be a nice little rental for us.

Agree that they would've had to make it eventually the way the score turned out, but the basis of jjg's point is completely true.(Like I said at halftime) If you're going for 2 that early you're basically saying your team is not going to make it to the end zone again the rest of the game. If you don't think your team is going to score a TD in an entire half then it really doesn't matter what you're doing on extra points. Unless you're down by some ridiculous amount, it does not make sense to go for 2 before the 4th quarter. There's way too much scoring to come that you can easily wind up costing yourself a difference in a 1 possession and 2 possession game late because you didn't take a free point 3 minutes into the 2nd half.

Just got back from the game. . . . wow, it was a barn burner.

If our WRs could beat their man and if Dick could have thrown a couple decent passes, we coulda pulled that one out.

Oh well, you can't win em all. The Hogs were predicted to finish 4th in the SEC W. . . a 10 win season and a legit shot at the Sugar Bowl is nothing to be ashamed of.

I think DMac should play QB all game long (I took this pic earlier today)

You guys are right about going for two. I swear, Nutt acts like he has to go for two followin a PAT miss. He's been doing this crap for years. I don't think you should go for 2 until the 4th quarter.

I sincerely hope McFadden gets an invite to NYC for the Heisman ceremony. After his performance today, he's earned it.

It really doesn't have to do with it being boring, and really, I wouldn't have said anything if it hadn't gotten so over-the-top and juvenile of late.
