My first kU football game, and it's blackout too. Too bad Mizzou's second half slide took away a lot of meaning, but it should still be a pretty raucous atmosphere.

Well have fun and enjoy the show.

I'll be cheering on the Hogs and hoping they get an undefeated SEC regular season this friday.

I'll be quite annoyed if Michigan is the team selected to play Ohio State in the BCS Championship game. They had their shot, close enough isn't good enough.

With a win over ND, USC will jump Michigan. They've already done so in the two polls (Harris and Coaches) and a win over ND would not only increase USC's computer ranking but make Michigan's worse.

weird how the buckeyes regular season is finished while some teams still have 2 weeks of games to play.

Everyone in the Big Ten is done except for Purdue, who has a chance to be the worst 10-win team in the history of college football if they beat Hawaii and win their bowl game to go 10-4.

True, but a ND win may push Michigan into it.

In that case Arkansas would still have a chance to jump them all by beating LSU and Florida.

Arkansas doesn't have much of a chance in the computer rankings. There's one computer ranking, for example, that allows you to add up to 5 games and see how the results would turn out. These are approximates, because obviously other results would influence it a little bit-but here's what I put in.

Notre Dame beats USC

USC beats UCLA

Arkansas beats LSU

Florida beats Florida State

Arkansas beats Florida

Here are the results

Ohio State-.96511

Michigan-.94305

Notre Dame-.91777

USC-.91593

Arkansas-.90405

Notre Dame, USC, and Arkansas are very close-but Michigan is still a long way away. USC and Florida have a chance to catch Michigan in the computer rankings if things fall their way. I don't think Notre Dame or Arkansas do.

I really don't care about all the national championship talk, but oh man, it's going to mess up all your plans when UCLA beats USC in Pasadena in 2 weeks.*

*They won't because the offense sucks and Dorrell won't start Olson over Cowan.

But the computer rankings are only a third of the BCS. I don't think it's completely inconceivable(if that word means what I think it means) for Arkansas to overcome that in the human polls considering their next two opponents.

Oh snap.

It'll come down to who plays better--KU's awful pass defense or Mizzou's awful run defense.

If Cornish (Big XII leading rusher) romps for 160+ and controls the game, we'll win.

If Chase is throwing bombs all over the field, Mizzou wins.

We're hot right now. Should be a good game. Hopefully Mangino owns Pinkel as much as I think he does.

My assumption is that Arkansas cannot pass Michigan in both polls over two wins at the end of the year. It's just too far too fast, and I doubt it would happen. It would take both polls for Arkansas to pass Michigan in the BCS.

That frosts me because Arkansas gets punished because the "experts" didn't think they would be that good. IMO there is no reason why some stupid poll before the season even starts has so much influance on who plays in the BCS Championship game.

The "experts" seen them get smoked by USC early in the season. Its not like Michigan started #2 either. They made their mark early by beating a Top Five team on the road. If Arkansas would have at least played well in their game versus USC they would have moved up faster. What is supposed to make this whole system great. Every game matters. I dont think Michigan has any gripes if they dont get in because they did have a chance. The truth is they still have the best arguement for being the second team. I think this is just going to be another year that it is painfully obvious that the system still leaves way too many unanswered questions.
