notre dame has a basketball program? who cares?

Fixed.

I do. Kinda nice to root for a college sports team that nobody hates once in a while.

SIU moves up to 30th and 33rd in the polls :)

A win over surprising Western Kentucky would probably put us right on the edge of the top 25. Then a win over Indiana at Bloomington in 13 days should be able to finally put us in the top 25.

Butler is ranked 14th in the AP and 15th in the coaches heading into Wednesday's tilt with Ball State. I'll be at Hinkle Fieldhouse cheering on my Cardinals.

Edited to add that we also play 22nd-ranked Oklahoma State in San Diego on Saturday. In the span of four days the Cards will play the only two 9-0 teams in the country. With Kansas and Georgetown already in the rear-view mirror and IU in Bloomington still to go. What a brutal OOC schedule.

what on earth is with you right now?

You've driven him over the edge with your sound, reasonable arguments.

Missouri is 9-0 as well.

KU beat USC yesterday 72-62.

UCLA plays Cal State Fullerton today at Pauley. It will be an intriguing matchup because Howland is good friends with CSUF's coach, Bob Burton and many of CSUF's players have played with the Bruins players during summer leagues and the like (UCLA's Arron Afflalo, Josh Shipp, Lorenzo Mata and former Bruin Jordan Farmar and CSUF's Bobby Brown, Scott Cutley and Jarrel Lake are all good friends from their high school days).

They should be, with the piss-poor schedule they've played so far.

Yeesh, UCLA was actually down 10 in the first half but pulled away for a 78-54 win over Cal State Fullerton. Arron Afflalo had 20 points and Lorenzo Mata grabbed a career-high 16 boards, but Darren Collison had his first subpar game of the season.

Up next: #6 Texas A&M (who lost their first game of the year today to LSU) at Pauley on Saturday.

44th of 336 ranked schedule

All home games and only 1 game against the RPI top 50, but only 1 game against a 201+ RPI team. It's been far from a joke, and they play Purdue, Illinois, and Mississippi State before conference play starts.

I guess it depends on which set of rankings you look at.

Sickening loss for Iowa last night to UNI, 57-55 to break our 21-game home winning streak (3rd longest in the country).

This is the second game (Arizona State being the other) where we've had a 12-point lead with 5 or less minutes to play and have found a way to lose.

I could really care less what Mizzou's strength of schedule is right now. I'm just happy they're winning games. The last two years have been such crap. 17-16 my freshman year, and 12-16 last year. Who gives a crap right now what their SOS is, they're 9-0 and playing well for the first time while I'm at Mizzou. And their schedule will get tougher. It's just nice to have them not losing games to Sam Houston State and Davidson.

Any chance Holy Cross comes within 15 of Duke tonight?

That game isn't even on sportsbook.com to be wagered upon. That's how bad it's going to be.
