Bucknell was going to be in as an at-large last year if they had won the Patriot League or not.

No way is that certain. They would have been 24-5, RPI would've been above 50, and they had only two wins over teams in the top 90 of the RPI (Syracuse and St. Joe's). A lot of little-conference teams have been left out with similar profiles - including Holy Cross the year before, when they were 24-6 after losing to Bucknell in the PL final.

Every bracketologist I saw had them as a lock for the field, and not one of the bubble teams. I've never seen a lock lose one game and be gone, and they all said that Bucknell was in no matter what. I know teams like that have been left out before, but Bucknell's 9 seed in the tournament when they won that game kind of proved the brackatolegists right that they were in for sure, as they certainly wouldn't have dropped past the 13 seeds who got in as an at-large.

Jesus. When did MSU suck. Not even them can get some uber stud team. B10 is really falling apart. This sucks.

MSU

Illini

When the F did both of these teams not have some awesome talent or awe insprining team? N. E. V. E. R.

Wisc has always been a solid program. I like them. OSU is number 1 without Oden? What the hell is happening here. Iowa? You are supposed to be perenial top 25 too. Damn this.

SIU wins 50-36. The Salukis are now 5-1 on the season. Not the most impressive win, but not a bad effort considering that this was our 4th game in six days.

Next game is at home against Saint Louis, who improved their record to 5-1 after knocking off Loyola on the road.

Hahahah Butch Davis just said he thinks he can make UNC football into a National Championship contender.

I understand you hafta say good things, but start with like a decent bowl game or in the conference championship game or something.

The good: ND walloped Winston-Salem 90-45 to go to 5-1 on the season, and their only loss is to seemingly unstoppable Butler.

The bad: They still haven't played anyone other than Butler. Although that will change with Maryland and Alabama coming up.

Bob Huggins.. I'm definitely not sold on him.. We've now gotten our ass kicked 2 road games in a row. UGH! He's playing walk ons over players that were a respectable group last year. I'm not happy.

At least UNM and Cal are pretty solid teams. Looks like it'll be almost Christmas before you get another chance to see what they're made of, though.

As a fan of the ACC (I grew up in North Carolina), and an alumnus of the Big Ten (Northwestern), I'm a little torn on this idea. Obviously, the ACC would be destroyed. Northwestern might even win, which is about as common as Halley's Comet.

Even if they did do it, though, college basketball's clear superiority over college football would win the day for the ACC (man the BCS is stupid).

Jeez, when did you attend/graduate? NU's no powerhouse, but we have won 3 conference titles and attended 5 bowls in the past 11 years...

Definitely rampant hyperbole on my part, and I meant it to be that way - I graduated in 2005. Basically, my freshman year was the year things fell apart (SI had us ranked preseason #12, I think, and we wound up being pretty pitiful), and they stayed poor to mediocre until last year, the year after I graduated (when they still weren't anything special).

Oh yeah - and GO HEELS.

Good game - Ohio State is going to be SICK with Oden in there. I was worried (I think TT pointed this out earlier) that OSU was just going to keep draining 3's all night, which would basically have killed us.

This was the first Carolina game I've actually been able to watch most of all season - and man, do our freshmen look good. I'm pretty excited for the season. Given that they're so young, and obviously make a fair amount of mistakes (what was it, 26 turnovers against Tenn?), they'll probably lose a few more games than they should, but if they can figure out how to put things together consistently, they should be a powerhouse.

I'd like to see them play better defense, too.

I figured you were kidding a little bit, but I was just thinking about our school spirit today so I thought I'd say something.

I overheard a freshman saying "God, our football team ALWAYS loses." I think the losses stick too much to our student body than the wins, unfortunately.

We should make some noise next season though if everyone can stay healthy.

That was classy by Colon, that's for sure.

Also, I've never seen a basketball player with a mohawk before.

Yeah, that was awesome...the mohawk not the punch.

Ugh, I just found out that student section tickets are in current Bruin Cards (IDs). In the past, students could just hand off their ticket to other students/alum (say, during finals week or winter break), but no more.

Damn that was smart of them. But, stingy too.
