Spend a few years in Chicago and then we'll talk.

IT IS A LOT DIFFERENT IN CHICAGO

It's a lot different in Chicago, okay.

It is a LOT different in Chicago.

You spend a few years in Chicago too and then we'll have this discussion.

I started hating them once I moved to New Trier and once I joined forums and dealt with moronic fans in person and online.

I'm pretty sure he doesn't live in a bubble and makes it to Chicago once in awhile. I don't live in Chicago but will also make the refrence to those on this board that live out of state that when you live in CHICAGO you would understand things a lot better.

I grew up in Skokie, thank you very much. I went to the city a lot when I was little. I still go, but not as often. And if I go in the city now, I just hop on the L. I'm 30 minutes by foot from a station.

sorry, but it's a LOT different, as you've pointed out a handful of times, in chicago.

Wait, so your response is that you used to live 15 miles away instead of 20?

Not that it really matters anyway, but still...

NO!! At my old school in Skokie, I dealt with Sox fans and hated it. When I movd to my new school, I dealt with moronic Sox fans, and once I joined forums, I dealt with more moronic Sox fans. I consider the North Shore "Chicago" as well.

I deal with plenty of Sox fans, but if I have a chance to ship Pierre to the South Side, I do it, and if he turns out to return to his form immediately (which, the way the Sox go lately, he definitely would), then who cares.

I'd do it, but I'd ask for Josh Fields in return.

That is a bad precedent to set. A lot of teams and their fans don't necessarily like the Cubs because of the onslaught of Cub fans to their ballpark. Sure they like revenue it brings, but if they could keep the Cubs talent level down by fleecing or choosing not to deal with them then those clubs would still get the revenue from the devoted Cub fan base while helping in the fact that the Cubs have a untalented team(or at least not talent that they themselves provided to the Cubs).

If the Cubs refuse to deal with the Sox or only make deals that seem lopsided, then they only give merit to other teams taking that same type of approach with the Cubs. Trading is one of the business aspects of baseball and this would just be bad business.

Once again, I'll say it. If the Cubs decide that the Sox have made the best offer on a player they want to trade, they should make the deal, regardless of how it may affect thin-skinned, hypersensitive, and potentially unstable Cub fans who can't handle a little ribbing from Sox fans who live in their proximity.

It's not that. It's Ken Williams comments that he doesn't want to play second-fiddle to the Cubs and Ozzie's "[bleep] the cubs" comments that we shouldn't trade with them. That and their rude, dumb, obnoxious fans.

Who cares about whether he wants to play second fiddle or Ozzie's comments? And if we are going to stop trading with teams that have rude, dumb, obnoxious fans then we better start doing a much better job developing our own players, because there won't be any deals to make.

If you refuse to deal with one team because of the reasons you stated, you are committing baseball malpractice. It would be completely irresponsible and would only be a disservice to your own team.

I never once said we shouldn't trade with them. I said we should only trade with them if the trade is not going to put them over the top and we get good quality players in return, players who can help us now and a few years from now.

Again, what you're not grasping is that all that matters is that the trade would help the Cubs. As long as a trade would help the Cubs, it does NOT matter if it would also help the Sox. Hendry's job is to improve the Cubs, period, not to avoid improving the Sox.

Well, not exactly.

NO!! No trades with them unless we get an arm or a leg.
You obviosly don't get it. Any trade with the White Sox or Cardinals, in my book needs to cost them a little more than other teams, since we hate their guts.
So you'd rather have something to get the better of Sox fans than complete a trade that would improve the Cubs?

I would

If in the process of us getting Player A from the White Sox we fleece them. Otherwise, we don't do it.
any trade with the White Sox needs to cost them a little more
I would be willling to get a little less in return from another team

Then you lied:

I'm done arguing about this with you people.

And if in the process, the White Sox win another World Series, how do you deal with the angry fans like me who want a winner right away??

ALL of us want a winner right away. We're all frustrated at the incompetence this organization has shown lately. However, making the best possible trade is NOT going to delay winning a World Series; hopefully it would make it closer. And the fact that your hatred for the Sox is blinding you to the issue of improving the Cubs that's your problem. Not mine, not other Cub fans', and certainly not the Cubs organization's.

no one cares.

i like how you want a winner right away, yet you'd take deal A over deal B even if deal B was better. yeah, that's how you build a quick winner!

Win a World Series while having no part in helping the White Sox or Cardinals win one.
