A-Ram hit. Hope he's okay.

As a person, yes, I hope he's OK.

As a person who's ticked off and frustrated, I hope he stays off the lineup for the rest of the year...Its hard to be nice anymore.

How is this possible? How can Dusty and the coaches be so oblivious to the fact that swinging at everything does not work unless you're Vladimir Guerrero. We are swinging at pitches that bounce all the way to the backstop and pitches that hit us. HELLO!!!! ANYONE HOME IN THE COACHING STAFF???!!!

And nobody cares! Ha!

It's hard to care. I thought this team was inadequate before the season started.

It's hard to get excited about a team that only has a chance of winning if the other teams in the division regress.

Trade Ramirez? Sure.

Baker has taken a promising period of Cubs baseball and flushed it down the toilet. Time to blow it up and start again.

I've been as critical of Baker as anyone and I still think he needs to go, but I don't think anything will make this team any better. Honestly who could win with this bunch of crap?

I know I'm beating a dead horse, but Baker is part of the reason that the team is inadequate. He asked for many of the players he has now. He rides he starters too hard - especially in 2003 when Prior was what, 22 years old? Or was he 23?

It sickens me that injuries are being used as an excuse when Baker probaby played a part in some of those injuries.

I agree completely. Baker's damned fingerprints are all over this descent into basball hell. We'd begun falling even as we celebrated beating the Braves in the NLDS - we just didn't know it yet.

Anyone who doesn't think that AJ running over Barrett was clean is really letting their fandom getting in the way of what they know about baseball.

That was as clean as any catcher being run over that I have ever seen.

Take your blinders off, watch it again, and tell me its clean.

I love how people expect a guy going full speed into home to gauge where exactly the ball is and what velocity it's coming in at.

Barrett was blocking the plate. That's all that needs to be said.

Clean play.

Maybe...but then AJ got up and started walking past Barrett when the dugout was the other way....AJ was trying to mix it up.

Hughes said he was walking to pick up his helmet.

His helmet wasn't over that way though. It was near the 3rd base line. There was no need for AJ to go left except to walk near Barrett.

I'm going by what Hughes said, but if he was wrong, AJ certainly deserved to be hit in the face for walking the wrong way.

OK. I didn't post in any of the Nationals game threads, and we went 2-1. I think I'll stay away from tomorrow's game thread.

I don't mean to JFK you, but the helmet was nowhere near the 3rd baseline if you watch the replays. It hit the ground and rolled behind Barrett.

Barrett clearly says he was confused and that AJ didn't really instigate things. That being said, AJ is the type that would make sure to get close to Barrett.

Sorry to be such a pain, can anyone give me a quick recap?

I know there was a brawl between Pierzinski and Barrett, what happened? How was Hill? What happened to Ramirez?

Thanks in advance.

Well, basically...

The bases were loaded, AJP at third, Barrett catching. Sac fly to left, murton throws home. The ball was still bouncing down the third base line and AJP absouloutley PLOWED into barrett, elbows up. Uncalled for. Then after that he turned arouned and SLAPPED the plate real hard, just being an ass. So as he walks away barrett stood up and grabbed him, and said something ot him, then JACKED him square in the jaw. Then turned and did the same to whoever was on deck, who of course came running to the plate. THen the ump pulled barrett back onto his back and a huge brawl erupted

Mabry and Anderson got into a little cat fight and they got ejected as well.

Hil was terrible.

First:   on Barrett beating the crap out of AJP. I don't have a personal problems with any White Sox players, outside of AJP and Jenks. And to hear Barrett beat the crap out of him....BEAUTIFUL.

Second: Why is Barrett the only player to show some "fire" in the last couple of weeks?

Third: Why is Hill still in Chicago, and Ryu in AAA?

I had to work today but lo and behold as I was getting lunch the Cubs game was on and saw the best part. Props to Barrett. Hill sucks and I don't see anything that he can do that tells me he could make it in the majors, and our offense still sucks. We are the worst team in the majors right now. Scoring 1 run these days is like throwing a 1-hitter.

what happened to Aramis? Again.

He just got plunked in the knee in his last at-bat. Seemed to be okay though.

Will the Sox hit Barrett knowing they will have to bat in a few weeks at Wrigley?

I can chances of Z hitting AJ more.

What was Zambrano doing the whole time the brawl was taking place?

I asked the same question. Someone else said "nothing"
