That league stinks -- but the Cubs remain on top of the pile. I'll have updated standings at the conclusion of today's games.

Carlos never lowers himself to become a common brawler. Carlos was busy having his minions oil up his bone-crushing muscles before he graced the field with his presence, but alas, the fracas was over before he could lay the hammer down.

No one wants to see someone killed on the diamond. I'm glad Carlos was able to restrain himself.

It's sad that the two most impressive things I've seen anyone on this team do this year are two of the stupidest...Zambrano snapping the bat over his knee and Barrett cold-cocking AJ.

After a quick look, the Cubs are 3rd to last in the NL in singles.

 

They obviously need more power, but they're also seriously lacking in getting on base. You do either better and you'll score more runs.

Well, the sad thing is that Barrett jacking Pierzynski in the face is probably going to be the highlight of the season. Since the year's pretty much over anyway, I'm glad he did it. I know he was at fault, but I think Barrett knows as well as anyone that AJP has deserved a few cracks in the face for a while.
