Yay for Jacque, but why the hell didn't Girardi get a lefty reliever in? No activity in the pen? I don't get it. Makes me glad Joe isn't our manager.

The Marlins bullpen is entirely left-handed.

They didn't have a lefty in the pen to bring in. That's not Girardi's fault.

I thought I heard Pat and/or Ron mention that Girardi didn't have any left handed relievers available.

edit: beaten again [sigh]

I gave up when it was still 3-0 in the 8th and headed home from work, heard on the radio that it was still 3-0 when I got to the grocery store. I get home and find out that they scored 6 in the 8th and won. Anyone have that inning on video?

Was this game on WGN tonight? If it was it must not have been on the Superstation, which is pretty weird. I'm just glad I got to watch it on ESPN.

So wait, you mean to tell me that a team was leading by a very convincing 3-0 margin in the 8th inning, only to have a complete collapse with 5 outs to go and blow the ballgame? Holy crap, sucks to be THAT team. Good thing it wasn't during a more important game like in the playoffs or something - i can only imagine how terrible that would be...

IIRC, the Marlins don't have any LH relievers.

a very rare thing occurred to me tonight. I wished a Sox fan was sitting next to me, or maybe that I got a call through to Boers and Bernstein.

the crowd was incredible. drinking beer and talking on cell phones my butt. Sox fans NEVER would have been into this game like the Cub fans were tonight, even when the Cubs were trailing and looking like total crap.

I was at a friend's tonight for the Bulls game, and thank the Lord the Bulls collapsed in time to turn to the Cubs game and see that eighth inning.

Can I just say that I love Matt Murton??? He's the best pure hitter the Cubs have had since Grace!

And Jacque Jones should not be booed anymore. He sucks. It's true. He'll never be probably even an average RF with the Cubs. But he has come up HUGE twice when we desperately needed it now, so let's lay off eh? :D

ARRGGHH, I hate stupid 35 page papers (plus my procrastination) that make me get rid of tickets to games like these. The game on Memorial Day will hopefully be even better, to make up for this.

Think Jacque can keep up his Mr. Clutch abilities?

Hope so, there aren't many better sights than Jacque positively beaming as he rounds the bases after a big home run.

Since Hendry and Baker don't seem to realize that you have to play the best player the fans might as well make it clear to them that he sucks. Maybe it'll give them some motivation to do their jobs right.

Neifi came through the clutch and saved our team before. Should we lay off him?

Way to hang in there tonight Cubs and pull out the victory. After a rough start, Z settled down and kept us in it. Great to see the walks leading up to the 6 run 8th. Also loved seeing Murt come through and JJ with the blast. Let's make it 3 in a row tomorrow...

Agreed. Both this home run and the one against the Cards were awesome.
