in high school i took a hit like that during a basketball game and I reacted the same way. i seriously felt like my hand had been snapped off, the pain was about 10x worse than when i broke my ankles. I was on the bench for a the rest of the quarter and played the entire second half. Joint injuries are weird, he may not be out that long, it's pretty stupid to speculate at this point.

According to Mazor, Lee has a sprain to right wrist. Lee will fly back to Chicago.

 

Right knee contusion for Eyre. Day-to-day.

That was my first thought too. Great to get the win tonight, but it might have come at a terrible price.

I just talked to my dad, who is a doctor. He said that a knee contusion could be anwhere from a couple days to a few weeks. He also said that when an x-ray comes back inconclusive that it means they'll probably do an MRI tomorrow but it isn't necessarily bad news. But he said even if it is just a sprain that it could actually be worse than a broken wrist because of the lingering affects.

Yeah, it's Neifi time. The Cubs never really liked Walker at 2B anyway, but he's too hot to sit so he goes to 1B fulltime.
