Should have signed Furcal, at least then he wouldn't have run into Lee.

I blame the signing of Neifi, which precluded the necessity of the signing of Furcal, who bowled over Lee.

I hope someone earholes Furcal next time we play him.

Any word on Lee's MRI yet?

They probably just want to have another doctor look at the xrays before they say it's not broken that is typical with Xrays. A few years ago, I broke my wrist and went to the emergency room and then a month later got a bill from another doctor who looked at the Xrays. My wrist was obviously broken you could tell that without an Xray.

Has there been an update on Lee? Or was it all lost in the stupid Neifi debate?

No update yet. Expect it later on this afternoon

It sucks that Lee got hurt, but at the same time, wasn't Lee really struggling at the plate?

Not really, he was hitting .318/.448/.614 on the season and had two shots that would have been HRs if they weren't playing in Chavez Ravine the last few days.

Does this remind anyone of last year's Braves? Chipper got hurt and the national media threw in the towel. They dipped into their minor leagues, Andruw had a huge year, they held it together, and did what they always do.

these comparisons DO NOT WORK.

dlee is orders of magnitude more important to the cubs than players like rolen or chipper jones are to their respective clubs. they can survive without those players for extended periods of time. this club is going to have a lot of difficulty doing so.

Not sure why the caps were necessary to drive home your point.

In any case, I was only trying to spin this into a (possible) positive light, particulalry in light of the way in which the team fought back last night after Lee got hurt. Tha was very encoraging, IMO.

uhh, because there are multiple people trying to make similar comparisons that simply do not apply to this situation. that's why they were necessary.

Isn't it normal to push back any team news to the next scheduled game day?

Seems somewhat reasonable as Lee was flying back to Chicago either last night or today and then having the MRI done on his wrist which will be much more conclusive and should indicate whether there was any ligament damage

I understand that. It's just seemed to me that lately that Lee has been GIDP as of late though.

Can we get Lee fitted with a Luke Skywalker hand/wrist combo?

Can someone with skills put Lee's head on here?

Acutally, Lee has had a pretty rough go of it this last week.......

04/15 - 04/19 AB R H 2B 3B HR TB RBI BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS
Lee 17 2 4 1 0 0 5 2 2 3 0.235 0.316 0.294 0.610

That .318/.448/.614 you referenced is marked down from .370/.513/.815 (03 Apr - 14 Apr)
