Dope is on the shelf.

Brandon Sing: *ring* *ring* ?? :-k

Sings' not doing so hot in Iowa right now. I'm afraid our options are very limited. Let's hope Dlee is alright and we can stop speculating. I'm sure we will get a update from Sports Central tonight.

I can't remember if this was mentioned anywhere in this thread, but let's all realize that this is the second time that Rafael Furcal has screwed the Cubs within four months (all non-scoring related too).

What does he have against us? :x

Errr....how coicendental is this? On 4/20 last year Nomar got hurt. On basically the same game (since we have no game on the 20th) Lee (and Eyre) got hurt.

You know 20 April is the day they shot Columbine HS and is Adolph Hitler's birthday ??

So basically, every Cubs player should wrap themselves in bubble wrap and sit quietly in their basement until April 21?

I think the team would be well within their rights to forfeit any game on April 20 if it keeps us all together for the rest of the season.

I'd just like to point out that I hate my life. Also, I better hear something about that MRI or whatever after i get home from work, and before i go to bed, or i'm going to be very upset.

If lee's out more than a week we're screwed.

:alright:

Also on this date.

1946 The Cubs are shut out by Cardinal southpaw Harry Brecheen in their home opener at Wrigley Field, 2-0. The game is the first in the club's history be televised as 'Whispering' Joe Wilson does the play-by-play for WBKB.

1967 Mets' rookie hurler Tom Seaver gets his first major-league win as New York beat the Cubs, 6-1. 'Tom Terrific' goes 7 2/3 innings giving up eight hits and one run.

1997 In the second game of a doubleheader, the Cubs stop their season-opening losing skid at 14 games beating the Mets, 4-3. By losing the opener, Chicago set a National League record (0-13) for the most consecutive losses to start a season and has the second-worst record behind the Baltimore Orioles who lost 21 decisions before winning a game in 1988.

It's hard to say on the Lee injury...

On one hand, it looked like the guy shattered his wrist, based on his reaction. I mean, he was rolling around on the ground wincing in pain.

On the contrary, he did get up and it looked for a minute he might remain in the game.

It's really tough to say. Maybe anywhere from a week to a month. I really have no idea. Very interested to hear the news tomorrow.
