    The Mariners broadcast crew last year was great. And the one guy grew up in Chi was very knowledgable about the Cubs. I dont have audio this year though so I dont if its the same crew.

It could be a dubious source. Well if he heard the story and Deeg heard the exact same story I think its a safe bet that it was an actual report. What, Pistol - you don't think I'd make up a story about a guy signing in Los Angeles and attribute it to a San Francisco source to piss off people in Chicago? Seems perfectly logical to me! :roll: Deegster, I'm sure ya got nothing better to do than plant this story all over the internet.... :P

    Some of you need some serious help. We just signed the top free agent out there and all you can do is complain about how horrible a deal it is. Some of you will never be happy. Even when we win the World Series you'll cry about how we did it or some other bs. We just signed SORIANO!!!!! Enjoy it or go cheer for the Royals!!!!!

    I doubt he'd be leaving for an Olympic team. This isn't an Olympic year, and baseball is no longer an Olympic sport anyway. Perhaps it's for some other tournament. Baseball is being pulled from the Olympics starting in 2012. It will still be part of the next Olympics.

    Yeah, but could he then make it around the bases without falling down? :D We actually had a guy on the other team throw up on 3rd base last nite at my game. That was definitely a sight....

    There's plenty of time (and other posters who agree with you) to trash ND without bringing it into a Transactions thread. I wasn't (overly) trashing Notre Dame. I was stating my opinion that his football stock will decline after this season when ND's offense comes back down to Earth...

    Even though Neifi hits right handed pitchers better then lefties, if you want to give Cedeno a night off, wouldn't it make sense to do it against a left hander? I mean, Cedeno can't exactly hit left handed pitching this year either, so we might as well have Neifi in where they are almost equal in order to get Cedeno in against all the right handers where Cedeno is enormously better. Not that I consider Neifi adequate from either side of the plate but I dont see how you can consider Neifi a better hitter lefty than righty. Granted his righty numbers aren't much this year but his righty OPS is 56 points higher for his career and he has 9 more homers in 2171 less at bats.

    Why is the Cubs lineup always the last one out listed anywhere? Does Dusty think he needs to keep the other team off guard?? You'd think he'd want to post the lineup ASAP to get the other team as over cofident as possible..
