well Otis said he couldn't make the thread if the Cubs won, so I got the first post in the thread meaning I can hopefully nail down the save for Otis tomorrow. Cubs had a great game today getting a solid effort from Marshall and a real good effort from the offense. Pitching matchup:

#57 Jerome Williams, 0-0 3.60 ERA. Williams is making his first start of the year after spending the first week and a half in the bullpen.

#57 Zach Duke, 0-1 6.55 ERA. Duke had a pretty good outing against us if I recall at Wrigley last year.

bottom line is that we're 6-3. Let's make it 7-3 with a W tomorrow :D

Zach Duke is the classic case of Pirates pitchers who dupe me into thinking they are good enough for my fantasy team, so I pick them too early and they suck.

Last years example was Oliver Perez, who is basically a waste of life at the moment.

Get a win Cubs!

I picked Perez in the 2nd round last year. I still finished 3rd. That's how good (read: lucky outside of Perez)) I am.

So can you listen to Cubs games on DirecTV's XM feature even if you're not an XM subscriber?

This is Jerome's chance to prove he is better than Rusch and deserves a spot in the rotation until Prior/Wood/Miller return. Hopefully he'll pitch like something is on the line (cause for him there is).

And it is very nice winning.

I'm going to call it and say JWill goes 7 innings today. Just a feeling he's looked good as of late.

nice stats fred. so we are averaging 3 BBs a game which is better than last year. whats the league average? it seems we give up much more than that.

Last year, the National League team average for walks was 525 (std dev = 61.8 ), Max = 639 (Philadelphia), Min = 419 (CUBS)

I noticed we're still on pace for more homers than last year. It seems no matter how much we try to limit our home run influence, we end up hitting more!

But if we win, it's fine. :)
