Sun-Times"]If a trade sending the Bulls' top pick (No. 2 overall) in Wednesday's draft, along with Tyson Chandler, to Phoenix for Shawn Marion sounds too good to be true, that's because it is.

The Racine (Wis.) Journal-Times reported Thursday that the Bulls and Suns were giving "serious thought'' to such a deal.

Bulls general manager John Paxson shot down the report Friday. ''There's no truth to [it],'' he said.

***

"You can ignore it [the rumors],'' D'Antoni said. "I'll tell you what's going to happen: Someone will call me and I'll listen, because you always have to listen. And then we'll go, 'No.' And then it will be in the paper the next day that we're interested."

''You have to roll with the punches, but Shawn knows we're close, and we're not doing anything like that.''

Am I the only Chandler fan? I don't necesarrily agree with his salary, but I think he's a great guy to have on a bench (I don't like him enough to opose this rumored trade unless next years pick is involved than it does get a bit steep)

He can't catch the ball.

Marion can.

I like that in a basketball player.

I like him off the bench too - just not at 60 mill.

Draftexpress.com is reporting a possible trade that would send Duhon and #16 to Boston for #7.

This would be a no-brainer for Pax -- I hope its true. The Bulls would have some nice options with the #2 and #7 picks.

I would definitely agree with that. If he were to land the #7 pick, the Bulls could realistically land 2 out of these 3: Roy, Aldridge, or Thomas. Thomas and Aldridge are expected to fall down to around #7 if the Bulls do not pick one of them at #2. Roy, of course, is expected to go to Charlotte if the Bulls don't pick him at #2. Either way, this could end up being a very productive draft if we can get the #7 pick.

Maybe then package #2 and #7 for a proven superstar?

How about we do Duhon and #16 for #7.

Chandler, Deng, #7 for Jermaine O'Neal and #17.

Sign Pryzbilla. Sign Toni Kukoc to the vet minimum.

Draft Roy at #2. Draft Sene at #17 (if he is there).

Extend Kirk.

Starters:

Kirk --- 15.9 PPG/6.3 Assists

Gordon --- 16.9 ppg

Nocioni --- 13ppg/6.1 rpg

O'Neal --- ~20/10

Pryz --- 6.1 ppg/7.0 rpg/2.32bpg

Key Bench Players:

Roy --- rookie

Sweetney --- 8.1 ppg/5.3 rpg

Kukoc --- 4.9 ppg/2.3 rpg/2.1 apg in 15 mpg

Sene --- rookie

Harrington --- 4.8 ppg/2.1 rpg in 11 mpg

Strengths:

Starting Lineup

Will have among the best guard play in the league

JO provides a legit all-star power forward

Pryzbilla is basically Chandlers equal

Nocioni is one of the better SF's in the East

Weaknesses:

Not as deep of a team

Not much backing up Nocioni at SF (Kukoc)

Could use another big man off the bench due to O'Neal's injury history.

If this is the team and they go into the playoffs healthy, they can contend in the East.

Could Boston really be that stupid? I really, really hope so.

Four words:

Danny Ainge

I'm not sure why Boston would need Duhon with the guards they have already, but I'd make that trade. I wouldn't trade Deng though, not even in a Garnett or Pierce deal.

I don't think that team is better than the 05-06 Bulls. Jermaine O'Neal's a star, but he's not that big a difference maker. Kukoc is horrible. And your guard rotation is not among the best, unless Roy has an amazing rookie year.

I think Roy will turn out be like Hinrich. He's a guy who is as close to a sure thing to be a good player as there is but unlikely to be a star player.

When healthy, I think JO is a huge difference maker. There aren't many guys who give you 20/10 virtually every night. The Bulls also are sorely lacking a big man who can score, and JO is one of the better offensive power forwards.

Kukoc is certainly at the end of his career, but he isn't a horrible option for 10 minutes a night at SF. He is also an incredibly smart player who could help the development of some of the kids.

I guess I'm just a bigger Hinrich/Gordon fan than you are. Most NBA Draft projections say Roy is the most NBA ready player in the draft, so I think he can have a nice impact in year one.

Celtics don't really have a point with an over game. They have an interesting group of guard play - Allen, Dickau, Green, Pierce and Wally. Duhon is a bit different, more PG leadership with a defensive focus.

Given that Duhon has to agree to any such trade, i don't see it happening. Unless he is guaranteed a starting spot, he doesn't improve his situation whatsoever. If the Bulls do swing such a trade, they better package their picks for a proven veteran. The Bulls are very close to becoming one of the best teams in the East, getting two rookies that need time to develop doesn't help at all.

This draft may not have a "sure thing" player, but it's darn interesting to be less than 36 hours from draft time and really have NO idea what's going to happen.

Chad Ford"]As for the rumor that has the Chicago Bulls sending Chris Duhon to Boston for the No. 7 pick, Ainge flatly denied it, saying he had no interest in doing that deal.

Doesn't look like Ainge is that stupid. Rats.

From Chad Ford at ESPN:

There is a lot of talk about the Warriors' trading down or out of the draft instead of exercising their No. 9 pick. Monday night, the hot rumor (and I emphasize the word rumor here) had the Bulls sending Tyson Chandler and the No. 16 pick to Golden State for Troy Murphy, Mickael Pietrus and the No. 9 pick.

I talked to a source in Golden State late Monday, who told me that while there were trade discussions going on, he believed this deal didn't "have any legs." That's not the strongest denial I've ever heard. But he sure didn't make it sound like it was happening, either.

Sign me up. That's so one-sided (in favor of the Bulls) that its not funny. Pax can pick a big at no. 2 (probably Aldridge) and take the best available at 9.

Aldridge at #2 and O'Bryant at #9. This trade does seem one-sided for the Bulls, but Golden State really wants a center. They worked out O'Bryant yesterday, but it seems to me that they want to take a guy with a few years under his belt in the NBA. Murray would replace Songaila's role quite well, I would think. I would definitely do that trade in a heartbeat.

Seconded, and Murphy is far from a big step back from Tyson as a big.

Yeah, this trade was discussed in detail a few pages back.

Lots of rumors about Bargnani going to the Bulls at #2. Andy Katz was on ESPN News and he said Thomas likley slipped out of the #2 spot because Skiles was upset TT couldn't finish either of his workouts for the Bulls. The Raptors apparantly are seriously considering Gay with the top pick.
