Why did we quit going to James Augustine? He was unguardable. On a side note I wanna thank James and Dee. These were two Illinois kids who represented the university well all four years. They didn't have to go play for rat face or unc or dollar bill. They thought the state school was good enough for them and they will always be heroes for it. I hope the Sherron Collins and Julian Wrights of the world realize what they gave up in their home state to lose with B3 every year. Edited by illiniguy

Illiniguy, it's hard to believe that I was watching Dee Brown three years ago playing against ND in the NCAA 2nd round. He's been a great player for that program for a long time and even as someone who doesn't even watch the Big Ten very often, it'll be hard to imagine Illini basketball without him.

IU is the key game of the day for me. If the Hoosiers can win it will undo a lot of the bad stuff that has happened to my bracket today.

Vance, congrats to LSU, good luck against the Dukies.

Yeah I actually thought about that game today too, I just had a bad feeling that this could be the end. I just wish the officiating would have been a little more even, but hell if it was last year we are the defending champs and this doesn't hurt as much. I really wish that Deron would have been able to come back and end his career with Dee and James. Funny that out of that class Kyle Wilson is still playing while the other guys are all done. I can honestly say that it chokes me up a little to think that it is all over for Dee and James. They were so valueable to our program. Especially Dee, he could have bailed on us after what Self did, but he stayed and was proud to wear our jersey. I only wish more Chicago kids had his pride.

For all the crappy commercials they've aired the last couple days, the Coke ads of all the different die-hard fans and their stories are extremely cool.

I had Wichita State winning until they play Mich St...opps I'm out on that one until it gets to Illinois.

Illinois losing bounces out another one of my Final 4's as Wisconsin was the other. Pitt and LSU are my only ones left.

If I see another Applebees commercial I'll go insane.

All my Elite 8's are still in it but I fear that if NC State doesn't knock off Texas tomorrow that the Horns will take care of the Mountaineers, who I have coming out of the Atlanta bracket. And at the rate things are going, WV and UCLA making the Final 4 are going to be the keys to my bracket.

I knew when I saw everyone had Illinois on their lists, it was going to be trouble. You all need to learn the art of reverse psychology!

No seriously, when I saw they would run into a #5 in the round of 32 I sort of mentally circled that matchup "this could be trouble."

I said way back in the first few pages of the first thread that the Illini was in no way going to the Final 4. Who knew i would be SO right?

It'd be one thing if the referees were consistent and called a tight game on both ends. Heck, even if they called a tight game on just IL it'd be more acceptable. But the refs didn't do much in the way of calling fouls on IL until they were up by 12. Washington didn't even play all that well; all they were any good at was shooting FTs and that was it. Heck, Roy got more than half his points on FTs.

That reffing was BS, imo.

Absurd FT differential in favor of the Zags. And no, Ian Eagle, it's not all because IU shoots mostly perimeter. Killingsworth in particular is getting hacked every time he gets the ball with no whistle.

There's a difference when Killingsworth is the only player on the team not floating to the perimeter, and when there are very few settled jump shots on Gonzaga's end, a lot of penetration and attempted penetration.

No mention of the Technicals from earlier in the half? Looked like Killingsworth said the magic words.

Is the PAC10 ever going to lose a game?

Cal lost yesterday.

Opps...that's right. The ACC is undefeated then, correct?

Yes, the ACC currently stands at 6-0, with UNC and NC State in action tomorrow.

Pretty poor officiating today. The refs wouldn't allow U of I to play defense the last 15 minutes of the game. Not a surprise to see Augustine not touch the ball the last 10 minutes. The U of I guards liked to dribble around the perimeter for 30 seconds all year and then launch a desperation 3.

Luc Richard Mbah a Moute is trying his best to lose this for UCLA, and destroy my bracket in the process.
