I have 6 of 8 Elite 8 teams and all Final Fours. I'm tied at #22 on the Yahoo NSBB board. Next weekend I need Nova, Florida, Duke, Texas, UCLA, and UCONN to go 6-0 (Bucknell and UNC were my other 2).

How many of these wins were road/neutral --- which is the structure of the NCAA Tournament ?

For comparison, lets look at the ACC which only got 4 in and I feel scheduled tougher and are 6-2 in the NCAAT so far:

Wins:

Memphis (N)

OK State ®

Indiana ®

Kentucky ®

Texas (N)

Alabama ®

GW (H)

Bucknell (N)

Cal (N)

Seton Hall (N)

Notre Dame ®

Arizona (H)

Duke: 15-1, 7 R/N Wins, 1 R/N Loss

Boston College: 14-1, 6 R/N Wins, 1 R/N Loss

NC State: 11-2, 4 R/N Wins, 2 R/N Loss

UNC: 10-3, 3 R/N Wins, 3 R/N Loss

50-7, 20 R/N Wins, 7 R/N Loss

I'm sure a lot of the conferences have solid OOC records. However, in helping to evaluate a teams work, the R/N wins against quality teams really help in gauging performance in the Tourny.

NC State's victory over ND was a neutral-site win, not a road win, as it was in the Wooden Tradition in Indy.

Kentucky, St. Joe's, Iowa St., Wichita St., Rutgers, UNC, ODU, BC, and Arizona were all Road/Neutral wins.

I don't understand why it matters if the hard games on the road were in conference or non-conference. Are you honestly arguing that any of the ACC teams that missed the tourney are as good as the 6 Big 10 teams that made it? Are you arguing that those 6 big 10 teams weren't quality road opponnents?

None yet. But the hot rumor is that the guy who coached before Buckley, Ray McCallum, could return.
McCallum was the star player when I was attending BSU. He led them to their first NCAA tournament appearance in 1981. They won the regular season MAC championship in 1982 but got upset by Northern Illinois in the championship game of the MAC tournament. Ray is probably the most popular player in BSU history. He's from Muncie and was a high school star for Muncie Central (I believe they won at least one state championship while he was there).

Kudos to U-Dub for representing the Pac-10 well too.

Thank goodness for Arron Afflalo. Luc Richard better start making his FTs, those misses were killing me down the stretch.

Is the Gonzaga-UCLA game really at 4 ET? What the hell sort of time is that for a game in Oakland between two Pacific time zone teams? :x

Easy to figure that one out, Gonzaga and Florida are both still in and are both 3 seeds.

Care to venture a guess as to which player got called for a foul on this play?

Then there's this little snippet from UW Center Mike Jensen:

"I put my whole body in front of him," Jensen said. "I elbowed him. I butt-fronted him. I shoved him. Whatever it took. A couple times he got frustrated -- he'd push me or shove me -- but I just pushed him right back."

Yet, he managed to play 30 minutes with only 1 foul while Augustine was whistled for 4 fouls.

Of course, I'm still bitter, I don't deny the Illini committed a lot of fouls, but, its amazing the Officiating only managed to see these fouls while, UW was just as agressive. Jones getting away hand and hip checking Brown at mid court was pathetic.

It's at 11:57 am, Friday, Korean Standard Time.

Oh good, that means it's an evening game on the west coast.

I understand that you are bitter ad peeved at the refs, but your boys also completely ran away from their offense in the 2nd half.

Well, we weren't really allowed to have our offense on the court due to everyone but Dee being in foul trouble.

Jensen basically getting away with a mugging of Augustine may have also played a role in being unable to get him the ball thereby, taking them out of their offense.

Nevertheless, I didn't believe they were going to beat UConn but, it would have nice to see them have a shot at it. I'm thinking UConn, after surving a couple of close calls, is going to come into DC focused. To have a chance UW is going to need a 78-11 FT disparity (the same would have held true for the Illini).

Try getting called for a T for hanging on the rim in the last 2 minutes when the same exact dunk has been done by all teams all year without one being called. That happened to us last year against Vermont.

This post brought back major flashbacks of the Bulls-Wizards series when one of our guys (I think Tyson but I can't be certain) got T'd up for no apparent reason supposedly for hanging on the rim. A few games later in the series, Etan Thomas dunked the ball, hung on the rim, even pulled himself up and smacked the backboard emphatically, and no T was called.

I was irate with the officiating through all of the final 4 games of that series, but that especially drove me nuts.

Off topic, I know.

The real absurdity for Cuse last year was that they drew Vermont in the first round, who I had pegged as an 8 seed.
