Meh. You can blame the refs if you want a scapegoat but 5/18 from the 3 point line including 0/5 from Smith is pretty bad shooting or pretty darn good defense. Game was there for the Illini to take if they could have made some shots down the stretch.

Doesn't really bother me much - I don't think they had any chance against UConn anyway if they did advance.

Apparently if you're wearing Purple hand-checking is allowed not so if you're wearing Orange. McBride gets called for a hand-check and rightly so but, Jones in guarding Brown never hand-checked once? Edited March 19, 2006 by gflore34
