My only comments on this game:

1. The Gould FG was one of the funniest things I've ever seen in a pro football game

2. Mike Nolan was a complete moron going for the FG at the end of the second quarter. Seriously, with that wind, you stood a better chance of scoring by running the ball up the gut and hoping the Bears miss 20 tackles, or throwing a 5 yard pass and trying the hook and ladder. The chance of making a FG into that wind was about 1%, and that's being generous.

I'd say the chance of Vasher running it back 108 yards was less than that even...

Vasher was the player hooked up for Sounds of the Game today for Bears Gamenight Live on NBC. That was entertaining. And what's funny is that there were a few players on the line who were walking off the field even after Vasher started to bring it of of the endzone. They had a shot of Brown with his head down and slowly walking to the sideline but turned around to try to run to the play when the crowd started to make noise.

That was an awesome segment. That picture you posted was right when he was saying that was where he got a cramp. :D

I couldn't quite hear what he said. That's great. And supposedly they've practiced that play before.

I disagree... you've got a bunch of guys on offense who don't know how to tackle and most of whom don't know how to contain (i.e., like a kick return), plus a fast cornerback trying to outrun 11 guys, most of whom he is faster than. Did you see all the fatties from SF when he cut? They were dead in the water. The chance of running back a kickoff is less than 1%, but the chances of running back a field goal against a surprised, disorganized bunch of people who don't know how to tackle is much greater than that.

The chance of running it back it greater, if you get it. But the chance of the FG being missed and a team being able to catch and return it is not too great. I have only seen it happen one other time during a Ravens Monday night game.

I guess it could've been blocked too...at the time though, before he actually kicked it, and based on his two previous kicks, I didn't think it was a terrible decision.

And the field goal team is 9 linemen/holder/kicker. At best, maybe you have a tight end trying to make the tackle.

Wow...

Chicago Bears tackle Fred Miller, who sat out Sunday's 17-9 victory over San Francisco with a broken jaw, reportedly was hurt by a punch from center Olin Kreutz.

The Bears said last week that Miller was hurt in a fall down some stairs at home. But CBS-TV reported Sunday the injury came during an altercation with Kreutz.

Olin Kreutz is a crazy bastard. He got into a tussle with some of the '85 Bears a few years ago and some reunion party. He just doesn't care.

I have Tom Jones on my fantasy team so I hope he plays. I picked up Benson and started him this week. I had Grossman on my fantasy team last year and started him because my starter was on bye the week he hurt his knee against the Viqueens. I did win my fastasy matchup this week because my opponent started the 49ers kicker. Thank you wind.

WOW, how in the hell does somebodys leg bend the way Bensons did, and NOT tear something. Thats pretty remarkable, as soon as I seen it I thought torn ACL,PCL, and MCL the way that thing bent. Good to hear though, and lets beat Carolina....

Sunday was the first time since the NFC North was formed in 2002 that all four teams won on the same day.

also

The Bears did not permit a touchdown for the fourth time this season and now lead the NFL in fewest points permitted with 107. They had entered the day tied for the top spot with the Indianapolis Colts, who defeated the Houston Texans 31-17.

That is good news.

Now sign Damien Anderson for a few weeks, please.

Dorsey Levens is available and Anthony Thomas was available up until last week

great news for the Bears that Benson did not tear up his knee. I would think Jones would be ready to go this Sunday. He had a whole extra week of rest, so I would be very surprised if he can not go against Carolina.

Btw, is it too early to talk about the '06 draft? :)

Marcedes Lewis would look good at the Bears starting TE next year, I'm pretty sure Raisin would agree.

I've been thinking about it since April.

I'm guessing the Bears will be between 16-20. Without naming names I'd like to see O line (the oldest group on the team) addressed, but would be very happy with a defensive playmaker.
