So I was just offered a ticket to go to one of the games (by my parents, who are both white sox fans). If i go, I have to promise not to root against them.

What to do?

Suck it up. I could never turn down a chance to go to a WS game; no matter how much I don't care about either team.

I couldn't help but root against the Sox, and I'd rather not see any of it anyway.

Not caring about the teams is one thing, but what if you absolutely HATE both teams?

I'd go and just not root for or against openly. I wouldn't wear any fan gear at all. I'd go and enjoy a baseball world series game.

Yeah, I guess I'll go. If I knew that the cubs would be there sometime in the near future and I'd be able to go, I'd pass.

I'd go, get obscenely drunk during the game, and then find the umpire that was taunting me from the field and bullrush him at an opportune time.

Edit: I forgot that i'd rip my shirt off before the bullrush

I'd go but only so I could one day tell my kids that I went to a World Series game. And I'd wear Cubs stuff and laugh at how miserable the attempts to make fun of you by Sox fans were. (And they would be, should you choose to do that.)

I heard a rumor that Bartman is a Sox fan.

So your saying grab a seat in the first row and lean over

Or some drunk fat guy can fall on a girl and then fall on you....

This has no relevance ;)

It might be the last chance you have to see a World Series game in Chicago so I'd take advantage of it. Make sure you get yourself all White Soxed up and get a tattoo and a 8 inch knife. Maybe you and your dad can jump the 1st base coach too.

show class, accept the ticket (with humble thanks) go and be a gracious cub fan.

some of us that live in BFE don't have the opportunity to be near large baseball cities to enjoy such a thing

Go, wear a Sox shirt, with an Astros or Cards shirt underneath. Cheer your heart out the entire game (for the Sox), then, in the closing moments of the ninth inning, rip off the sox shirt, scram like a madman, and beat ozzie guillen to death while he makes a pitching change, all while Hawk Harrelson is yelling "OH MY GOD, THATS A CARDINAL/ASTRO FAN"

If St. Louis wins the next two games there will be no World Series this year. At least that's what I keep telling myself.
