I guess this all depends on what type of fan you are.

I am first and foremost a baseball fan. There are few other places on Earth I would rather be than at a baseball field, any baseball field. Now, add World Series to baseball here and I could care less who was playing the game. This is WORLD SERIES baseball, passing up an opportunity to go to a post-season game, let alone a world series game, would not be the actions of a baseball fan.

I'm going to game 6 of the NLCS, the Astros vs. Cardinals. Who cares, I'm going to go tonight and I'm going to soak up playoff fever. I may even stand up and cheer if Albert manages to park one. I would imagine there is nothing like watching a post-season game that means so much, and I fully intend on enjoying and basking in every moment of it.

I suggest you do that same.

Sometimes we just need to let go of our team facade and let our inner fan come out. Really, we only root for a team because we have to. Deep down we all just love the game.

You know, as much as I absolutely detest the White Sox, I continued to watch the post-game when they clinched, and I even smiled when I saw all the folks expressing joy....It brought back memories (very few) of when the Cubs won the division and then beat the Braves. I have a Sox hat in my closet (a halloween costume prop from year of the William Ligue incident), and that is where it always stays, but I would wear it, along with my Cubs jersey. I would love to go see a World Series game.

I am first and foremost a Cubs fan. If the Cubs are in a playoff game of any kind, there's not a chance in hell I miss it. But I miss lots of other playoff games. If the series goes 5-6 games, I'll probably miss all of at least 1 game, most of another, and parts of all the rest. If the local high school is playing a game, I might stop for a couple minutes and watch, but won't stay for long.

But if I got offered free tickets to a world series game, sure I'd go, no matter who is playing.

Go, wear a Sox shirt, with an Astros or Cards shirt underneath. Cheer your heart out the entire game (for the Sox), then, in the closing moments of the ninth inning, rip off the sox shirt, scram like a madman, and beat ozzie guillen to death while he makes a pitching change, all while Hawk Harrelson is yelling "OH MY GOD, THATS A CARDINAL/ASTRO FAN"

YES! A Bill Simmons wrestling joke! I love these! This is a wonderful idea.

Bring a newspaper or book and just read during the whole game. Really though do you want your first World Series game to be a Sox/Astros match-up? If you do go, wear Cubs gear and then razz your Sox friends who couldn't get tickets.

Yea...because going when you have no interest in either team is a heck of a lot better than a fan of either team going.

I agree. Find the biggest Sox schmuck outside of the cell and have him give you his 1,000 dollar life savings for the seat.

I don't understand some of the posts here. Why should someone go to a World Series game just to act like a cynical hateful smartass? If you hate these teams so much sell the ticket to someone who will actually get some joy from seeing the game.

It is what I would do.

Why go to a World Series game and act like a Sox fan? Shouldn't Cubs fans have more dignity and respect than to act this way? I would go to a World Series game in an absolute heartbeat, regardless of who the teams are. And I wouldn't wear Cubs gear and harass people and get drunk and any number of the other asinine things people here have suggested.

I know some might say "When in Rome, do as the Romans do," but I couldnt' lower myself to acting like a self-hating White Sox fan under any circumstances.
