In order, I'd prefer.....

Beltran

Dunn

Huff

Floyd

Manny

Soriano

Que?

And whats with the hate for Manny? Sure he's a malcontent, but malcontents that play well are theoretically invisible. No way you can prioitize Huff and Floyd over someone with a career OPS over 1.000

But why Beltran then?

I'd go Beltran, Dunn, Ramirez, Floyd, Huff, Soriano

If that's true, why the hell is Beltran at the top of his list?

Hmm, that was my best guess. I dunno.

I'd go:

Dunn

Beltran

Manny

Floyd

Huff

Soriano

We lose Sosa's contract after the season, Prior and Z are still in arby, Lee, Ramirez and Wood are locked up for 1-2 more seasons each, if Nomar resigns it will be around what he signed this year, same with Todd. In the long term it might bite a bit in 2-3 years, but right now I see no issue

Beltran isn't approaching the downside of his career. He's also a guy who doesn't have an exposed weakness that Manny has (defense).

The others are above Manny because of cash concerns.

And whats the deal with Beltran love. He's terrible this year for the money he makes. Only 27 walks all year? Pathetic. He's worse then Soriano in my book and he hasn't had a season to suggest that he would be better then Manny (who he makes more then) at any point in his career. Manny's power and obp way offset Beltran's speed and D.

for what it is worth...

Buster just said on ESPNEWS, that there is a 10% chance soriano gets moved.

And that the cubs would have one hell of a time moving him to LF.

It's just the way I see it. Manny is Sammy Sosa on the back end of his career all over again. We couldn't wait for Sammy to get moved. We'd be doing the same thing with Manny, IMO. Beltran is much younger and doesn't appear to be adapting to well to New York.

I think he'd be awesome in Wrigley. I also like a balanced line up, and Manny doesn't provide that. Nomar, Aram, Lee and Manny all hit right handed. Beltran probably isn't even being shopped at this point, but he's still on my wish list.

Dunn is the guy I'd like to see in left.

Beltran has been playing hurt for most of the year. he has had a bad quad since late May. He doesn't talk about it much but it is affecting every ascpect of his game.

There is a difference between Manny and Sammy though. Manny is producing . No one minded Sosa's antics too much when he was producing. I see no reason why Manny wouldnt produce for the duration of his contract

I heard on LA radio today that Cincy wants Antonio Perez and a Dodger propsect (think it's a pitching prospect) for Dunn.

If that's all it takes to get Dunn(No matter the prospect involved) then I'm going to be quite upset.

we could EASILY do better then that. We have so much more to offer then the Dodgers IMO.

George Offman talking about a Soriano trade on the Score. He thinks the trade is contingent on Soriano accepting a move to the OF

I'm sure the pitcher will be Greg Miller or Joel Hanrahan or maybe Edwin Jackson or someone of that stature. Surely, we could beat that offer. The question is whether Cincy would trade within the division. Hendry hasn't seemed all that enamored with Dunn, though. And I'm not sure why.

Isn't Soriano's defense pretty bad at 2B? Wouldn't he be pretty awful in left?

I'm not so sure about that. The Dodgers have a lot of good prospects.

I'd think it's a little easier to play LF than 2B.

I suppose so, but Steve Stone was on the Score earlier and was basically saying Soriano would never move to LF. I really don't see us dealing for him.

I heard the rumor on Loose Cannon's on 570, so take it for what it's worth. My guess is that Cincy just doesn't want to deal w/ the Cubs. Hope my hunch is wrong.
