WHY THE HELL IS MACIAS HITTING? Wow. Just wow. Unbelievable. Hey Dusty, I hear Darren is swinging pretty well lately. Why don't you let him hit next.

Earth to Cubs Fans, Earth to Cubs Fans,

Maybe, just maybe, Aramis asked for the whole day off, because he's hurting. That includes pinch-hitting.

Really?

doesn't it always seem like the cubs pull out miracles when baker is at his worst strategy-wise?

Yes.

Example: Zambrano hitting for himself in Houston.

Wouldn't that give us the best record in baseball? :P

Honestly, I don't know why the fans hate Barret with RISP. He's the best hitter on the team in that situation this year. Luck or not, he's one of the 3 hitters I want to see up there.

If I were the D-backs, I'd have pitched around Ramirez and taken chances with Hairston/Perez.

CUBS WIN!

I take back my P29 comment saying it might be more. Boys came through good. Now 3-44 when trailing into the 9th, apparently.

Never underestimate my gut feelings!!!! I get them rarely, but in all honesty they've been right over 75% of the time :-)

Way to pull it out guys - big win!

This team has no heart. Playoff teams don't come back to win games when trailing heading into the 9th.

We're now 2.5 games out, the season is over.

My goodness that was huge.

I'll also say that it was a pretty well managed game by Dusty once it started. I can't say I disagreed with any of his moves (off the top of my head), including leaving Prior in there.

Dusty makes a lot of stupid mistakes, but his decisions in the ninth will go unnoticed. Such as pinch-running for Walker and leaving Macias (I hate Macias, but I give the devil his due) in the game. His speed scored the run.

Good job by Barrett. I usually rip him because he has some poor at-bats with runners in scoring position (like yesterday), but he came through. Maybe this game can give them some adrenaline to get through the next two games before an off-day. Let's root against the Nats and Astros.
