Nothing like giving up a homerun to a guy who just got called up today. Cubs are a joke.

In my 20 years of being a Cubs fan, I have NEVER before wanted the Cubs to lose.

Having said that, a good 15 game losing streak may be the best thing - for the 2006 Cubs.

Only if that 15 game losing streak is the result of Dusty getting the axe.

That's the idea. Relatively speaking, this is as health as the Cubs have been all year, and they are playing the worst baseball of the season. If DLee comes back and the Cubs continue to play this horribly, Dusty will have no excuses to fall back on. He will be fired, the chaff will be cut loose, kids will play, and we will be better off next year.

I wonder how diffferent this inning would be if we had actually brought in a decent pitcher instead of Roberto Novoa?

"What a horrible pitch" - Bob Brenly

I've just received word that Kent Mercker has placed a call from the visitors' clubhouse at SBC Park to the WGN broadcast booth at Turner Field to complain about Brenley's treatment of the Cubs' players.

Novoa's ERA coming into tonight was around 2.50. Glendon Rusch is getting rocked as well. I hate to say it, but I'd trade him..he's the odd man out in the rotation and he's not nearly as good of a bullpen pitcher as he is as a starter.

and Dusty making a double switch in the 8th inning, down by 4. Very smart tough guy.

Cubs have hit a new low. I'm happy. I want this team to cut the losers who don't do anything to help.

You just don't use Novoa in a close game. You just don't use Macias to play a position when you NEED a win. Byebye Dusty.

I know he threw the meatball on a 0-2 count, but shouldn't Barrett or mgmt get some of the blame for calling for that pitch?

- R. Langerhans ran for A. LaRoche

KRAMER: Oh, hey,

ELAINE: Oh, hi. This is Hal. Hal, this is Kramer. Kramer, Hal.

KRAMER: Hal, .. uh Langerhans.

HAL: Kitzmiller.

KRAMER: Oh, Kitzmiller. That's right

ELAINE: You feeling jiff?

KRAMER: Oh, I'm jiff.

Made me laugh anyway.

I don't care what Novoa's ERA. So he had a few good outings. He's really done nothing to prove he's more than a Triple-AAA pitcher. You use someone good like Michael Wuertz in a pressure situation where you have to get someone out.

Novoa isn't any good, though. I have been saying this since he got called up. Him missing by that much isn't a one time thing. It happens all of the time. He should really be sent down to work on his command.

That's not where Barrett set up to catch it.

Novoa's ERA is deceiving. It's small sample size, plus look at all the walks.
