Cubs LOB% by the pitching staff has dropped by over 3% since Swanson’s injury, which ranks 18th. Cubs are still #2 in baseball in LOB%.

I kind of get that, but it seems like a guy would make an exception for an honor like the Cubs 150 team.  Is he going to immediately start chugging beers upon setting foot in Wrigley?

Not trying to be an ass here, but yeah its possible. As someone who struggles with alcoholism any type of scenario like that is tempting and creates potential for lapses. Ive been sober for almost a year now and I still get cravings and strong urges at events with alcohol. I dont know what Grace's situation is but its a reasonable way to approach it in my opinion.

It’s 100% the right call. I still get strong cravings 3 years into abstinence just by the smell of it.
